Welcome to my shop, I love working with wood, and take great pride in doing quality work. I love the natural beauty, warmth and diversity of wood, as there is always something new and exciting to be uncovered.
As a natural product there are many characteristics when using found or even purchased woods such as hairline cracks, bug holes, bark inclusions, punky spots as well as the constant motion of the wood itself.
On some of my turnings I use crushed stone to embellish a void or a crack, this in turn stablilizes the area and enhances it. Some if not all of the clocks, ikebana, oil lamps,or even woodturnings are pieces that incorporate cracks and voids as part of the design, and are NOT to be considered defects. I would not sell any item that I think would be problematic in the future, it is just not worth the trouble. PLEASE look closely at the photographs in the item listing before making any purchase as it shows full disclosure. If you are interested in any item and perhaps are not sure, contact me and I will answer any questions.
The pieces I have for sale here are well seasoned and should provide years of beauty and enjoyment. Most of the wood I use has come from fallen trees due to storms or other similar events, sometimes I may find a pile by the side of the road and loadsome up. There is a great satisfaction in turning trashed wood into a usable and beautiful item that will be around for years to come. Thanks for visiting.Come back soon and have a great day!
