Estudié en Hereford College a finales de los años 80 y obtuve un Diploma Nacional BTEC en Arte y Diseño y un Diploma Universitario superior en Práctica de Estudio Pequeño, que más tarde se convertiría en Artes Aplicadas.
Después de dejar la universidad, mantuve un gran interés en el arte a lo largo de los años.
Me encanta trabajar con textiles. Muchos de los materiales que uso son reciclados, reciclados y reutilizados. Mis telas preferidas son los saris indios vintage. Mi trabajo es de inspiración india con un estilo boho. ¡La basura de alguien es el tesoro de otra persona! ¡A veces me siento como una urraca, atraída por cualquier cosa que brille y me llame la atención!
Mi inspiración proviene de mis primeros años de viaje por el subcontinente indio. Encontrarás elementos del hinduismo y el folclore asiático en mi trabajo; un rico tapiz y textiles. ¡Todo se trata de color y texturas para mí!
I studied at Hereford College in the late 80s and achieved a BTEC National Diploma in Art & Design and a higher College Diploma in Small Studio Practice, later to become Applied Arts.
After leaving College I have kept a keen interest in art over the years.
I love working with textiles. A lot of the materials I use are recycled, up-cycled and repurposed. My go to fabrics are vintage Indian saris. My work is Indian inspired with a bohemian style. Someone’s trash is another person’s treasure! I sometimes feel like a magpie, attracted to anything that sparkles and catches my eye!
My inspiration comes from my earlier years of travelling in the Indian sub-continent. You will find elements of Hinduism and Asian folk lore in my work; a rich tapestry and textiles. It’s all about colour and textures for me!
