I hope you see my heart in each creation. Notice the extraordinary details, the wonderful mix of colors and the unique designs. Wreaths often have a backstory to them. I think this is the charm in creating them and one of the main reasons that I fell in love with with wreath design. I’ve designed wreaths for military families, cancer awareness, sympathy, team fundraisers and of course seasonal as well as everyday ones. I love the uniqueness of them all!

I would love for a Simply Elegant Wreath to grace your door or wall❣️

Hello and thank you for stopping by my shop! I am, Sue Stringer, owner and designer at Simply Elegant Wreaths by Sue. I started my wreath and floral design business on a whim in the Fall of 2016. My sister-in-law, Sandra Rowell, visited me in Texas and indicated that she would like to make a wreath after seeing the one I had on my front door. I told her that we could easily make the wreath, and away we went to the store for supplies. Sandra enjoyed the experience so much that I helped her make not just one wreath but two during her visit!

Sandra also planted a little seed with me about starting a business. She kept telling me that I should make and sell them and that I would do well. When she left, I started playing around with ribbons I kept on hand for wrapping presents. I posted some of my creations online, and the fun began! I had the unique pleasure of teaching wreath classes in my Texas hometown of Alvin at a fabulous place called Gander Studio. It was so heartwarming to hear my students say how happy they were with their finished wreath with some sharing with me that if I could teach them, I could teach anyone how to make a wreath!

I have always been creative at heart. I taught myself to sew when my children were young, and have made costumes, prom and formal dresses (which is no easy feat). I have painted and embellished t-shirts and assisted my husband with woodworking projects. I even quilted for a time, and I credit the art of quilting with helping me select ribbons and items for wreaths, as both of these crafts require good color coordination. My good friend, Terisa Blanchette, deserves a lot of credit for the ton of patience she had with me in helping me to learn color coordination with quilting fabrics!

In March of 2018 and after living in Texas for over 42 years, Toby and I made the decision to return to our hometown of Stringer Mississippi. One of my brothers mentioned he was selling his place, so my husband and I jumped at the opportunity to return home for semi-retirement. Even though we were moving away from a bigger city, I knew I would be able to find just what I needed to continue my wreath business near my hometown with several local stores offering high quality wreath supplies...plus, there’s always online shopping!

I offer high-quality embellishments along with unique items for my wreaths, all at affordable prices. These unique items allow me to be set apart from other wreath makers in design and style. So many people have asked me why I decided to make wreaths. My response is simple, “I’ve always loved and admired people who had the talent to make wreaths, garlands and centerpieces.” I admit that I never thought I would make them myself, and it truly humbles me to know that people have my one-of-a-kind creations on display in their homes.

One of the most unique and popular designs I sell are wreaths made using wooden wagon wheels. When I found out my sister-in-law, Reba, was redecorating her home with a western theme, the “wheels” in my brain began to turn. While out shopping during a family retreat, I stumbled upon some wagon wheels, and I envisioned them as a wreath base for her. I knew they would be a hit when all four of my sister-in-laws wanted one for themselves!!!

Regardless of whether I am designing a custom wreath or one of these beautiful wheels, one of my favorite things about my business is that it seems to have a way of turning customers into friends as I talk with them about their likes and dislikes when it comes to design and decorating. During these conversations, many times I will learn stories about why the customer has asked for a particular design, or I hear stories about the person to whom that customer will gift the finished creation. I’ve made military wreaths, cancer awareness wreaths, grapevine wreaths, deco mesh wreaths, and more. The uniqueness of them all keeps the creativity flowing!!!

I look forward to the opportunity to design for you!

Thank you again for visiting Simply Elegant Wreaths by Sue!!!

Additional Policies and FAQ's

Weather Elements:
For the most part, the materials used in your wreath are considered durable to moderate outdoor exposure. I recommend hanging your wreath on a door that has an overhang to protect it. Unfortunately, over time, as with anything left outside in the sun, your wreath will fade. But you should get a few seasons out of your wreath before this happens. Many customers are ok with this as they typically want a change after 2-3 years.

Storing Your Wreath:
Your wreath should be stored in a climate controlled room! Extreme heat or cold will cause decorations' paint to crack or peel, styrofoam decorations to melt, and flower insertions to become loose. Store in a closet as opposed to the attic or garage whenever possible!
