Celebrating sleep with silk
I am a big fan of sleeping with silk since I made my first silk pillowcase in 2013. I wanted to solve the problem of too much hair loss and upon researching, I found that silk is considered a great solution. I went out and purchased my first silk fabrics. Being in Shanghai at the time, I was amazed by the quality of the sheer and sleek silk and how it comes in so many different patterns that made me say ...oohh and ahhhh...
After using silk pillowcase, not only I noticed that my hair was smooth and was less hair loss, but also my face had no pillow creases anymore when I woke up in the morning. It has a cooling effect on skin and is hypoallergenic. Thus my journey with silk began.
My modern pattern silk pillowcases will bring an instant makeover to the bedroom. It is luxurious & lustrous, giving us a cool and gentle feeling to help us get our sleep while at the same time, nourishing the skin & working wonders on our hair.
I am excited to bring my silk pillowcases collection to the ETSY community. I am sewing my items all by myself. I choose unique patterns with different colors that will suit any theme and mood in the bedroom.

How to test if the silk is a genuine silk, not satin?
The easy and definite way to know is by burning it. Don’t forget to take some simple safety precautions and you can be assured that the silk you bought is a real silk.
Hold the swatch fabric near the flame till it starts to burn.
Genuine silk will burn with a smell like burnt hair and will produce a black, powdery ash. It will only burn while the flame is being applied – take the flame away and the threads will stop burning.
Satin is a synthetic fabric, it will burn with a smell like burning plastic, form a black ball of residue (not ash), and produce black smoke. It will continue to burn even after the flame is taken away.
