    About

    Unrepentant Textile Geek and Artist

It seems like I've been in love with two things my whole life: fashion and history. My poor husband gets no love! I'm kidding of course. He is wonderful and supportive in all my artistic explorations and mad-cap adventrues.
I digress. I have the typical childhood fashion designs (mostly superhero costumes) and sewing lessons. As I got older and went to collages I became disinchanted with fashion programs and switched to textile arts. There (SAIC) I learned shibori, embroidery, weaving, dyeing and fabric painting.
As I have gotton older, I've learned more tecniques but I love spinning and weaving most. You can see the results in my shop (why else would you be reading this?) I love the mix of artistic and functional in my work. I love knowing that whenever my yarns sell (or batts and fabric) they will be used and loved.
Spinning and weaving also allow me to work with both color, light, and texture. The feel of the fiber and yarns is important both to you and I. I know its already been said but life is too short for bad yarn.
My latest fine arts endevors involve minature landscapes of textured stainglass made from natural materials, glass beads, stone and crystals. I hope to list some of them here sometime in the future.

    Returns and exchanges
I only offer refunds on defective merchandise. Defects do not include occasional knots, differences or variations in yarn gauge/size, and occasional slubs. Handspun yarns have, by their very nature, have variations in them and this is considered normal. Art yarns are highly textured yarns and this too is normal.

What is not normal is a lot of bleeding from the dyes (I wash all yarns and rovings to prevent this, some color bleeding may occur but a lot of it is not normal) nor yarns that constantly break as you work with them.

If you have a cause for a refund there is no time limit, nor a "restocking" fee. But I will not refund the cost of shipping. Please contact me in the unlikely event you need a refund.

    Please consider your purchases carefully.
