Thanks to Sister Onion for a beautiful custom made gift. I requested a specific color scheme to match my friends guest bedroom and it turned out lovely. Haven't given the gift yet but I know she will adore it!

The dishcloths were everything I wanted them to be. They were so pretty I almost didnt want to use them, but they are very durable and I see myself getting more in the future

About

What's In A Name?

Sister Onions was created by my sister Karen and me because of a little photo of two green onions. A popular calendar called Playing With Food had a picture of these two green onions one year. I sent it to my sister and said "Hey, this looks like us!" One of the onions had wild and crazy hair (me) and the other had short cropped hair (my sister).

In 2010 our mom was in the end stages of her fight with cancer. Karen and I knew we wanted to spend more time together as sisters outside of family functions and decided we would enter craft fairs around Florida and Georgia. At every event is a picture of those two green onions in a small gold frame with the word sisters around the sides. And we each have our own frame in our homes.

I think my totes and drawstring bags are really unique. I love the process of putting contrasting fabrics together and adding extras to give them a really one of a kind appearance. I use only cotton fabric and cotton batting (which I believe is the best). And with all of the scraps that I have left I have started making Scrappy Diva Hot Pads for those you love a unique décor for their kitchen.

Karen takes crocheting to a whole new fun level with her bright patterns and colors. She is always on the hunt for new colors to bring to the mix. Karen's picture frames are a great and unique way to display those special memories in your life. And she has also branched out with decoupaged earring holders that have been a real hit.

Sister Onions has been a part of Etsy since 2012. Karen and I are really pleased with the interest in our shop and are always looking at ways to improve its appearance. We have received a lot of positive feedback from customers and also from people who have just stopped by our shop.

This whole process from spending more time together as sisters to creating our Etsy shop has been alot of fun. We look forward to more work ahead and hope you like what you see.
