Great customer service seems to be few and far between these days. SisterValentine's shop however, is very different. From the beginning I received great service and I am very happy with my purchase. I highly recommend buying from her shop.
never too much heart
Throughout highschool I dabbled in paper collage, mixed media sculpture, dioramas and photograpy.
Somewhere between late teens and the moon, i rediscovered the crochet needle and i decided to launch my etsy shop under the name of my alter ego Sister Valentine in the winter of 2008.
The whole idea was to simply put my functional, handmade accessories and art out into the world for people to love. Quality and finishings are top shelf important to me since I can't help putting a large piece of my own heart into each piece.
After graduating from the Crafts and Design Textiles program at Sheridan College in 2012, I have grown to find my own creative voice and strengths with the new techniques and processes I have learned and mixing them in with the ones i've discovered before.
I enjoy all the steps of the creative process whether it be for a finely crafted art piece, small batch production or a functional and one of a kind piece.
Finding inspiration from my daydreamed universe of friendly monsters, moon-bound lovers or from something as small as a specific word, I create pieces using reclaimed and natural based materials in attempts to lessen my carbon footprint as an artist as well as bring back the basics visually and texturally. I love challenging myself with specific materials to give the world just a peek into the imaginary world of my heart's mind.
My love of simplicity in vintage aesthetics and the endless forms and organic designs in nature and space can be seen in the obsessive details of my work.
Owner, Maker, Designer, Crochet Spider
With the love of vintage lifestyles and aesthetics, organic shapes in natural and anatomical design and the unknown of cosmic worlds, I use these elements in the obsessive, detailed handiwork and needlework of functional accessories and art pieces.
