Announcement   Skellig Pottery is taking a wee break for the summer. C'mon, there are gardens to tend and beaches to lay about on. Not to worry, however, we'll be back full time late in the summer. Custom orders are still currently accepted, however.

Welcome to Skellig Pottery out of St. Louis, Missouri. I make functional earthenware meant for everyday use. All glazes are lead free, microwave and dishwasher safe. All items are ready to ship.

I've been a potter (among other things) for a number of years. Once I stuck my hands into the mud I was hooked and there was no turning back. I like that the material I've chosen to use has been in the ground for thousands of years and has been used by people all over the world since the beginning of civilization.

All of my pottery is wheel thrown (by me) with a few hand built pieces from time to time. As a result each piece will be slightly different.....even in sets like bowls, cups, etc. After the pieces are trimmed and allowed to dry for a week or so they're bisq fired in an old kiln that's almost as old as me, cooled, glazed and fired again at a higher temperature.

I recycle all my clay. Before the final piece is complete it has had several lives. It may have been trimmed from an earlier pot, been broken prior to firing, or simply discarded into the recycle bucket because I didn't like how things turned out. I've been working on the same stockpile of clay for a very long time and it doesn't seem to be getting any smaller. I'm beginning to suspect magic is involved.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you find something you like that will be in your family for generations. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Beautifully made teapot that's even lovelier in the flesh. Seller shipped quickly, communicated well, and packaged the teapot well enough to survive the trip to Australia. Would definitely recommend :)

Refunds and Exchanges
I want you to be 100 % satisfied with you purchase. If you're not just return the item in the original package within 30 days for a full refund. I pack the items for shipment myself and great care is taken to make sure nothing breaks. As we all know, things happen despite our best intentions. In the event your pottery arrives broken there's really no need to return it. What the heck am I going to do with it? Email me a picture of the broken item and the purchase price will be refunded. Or in some cases I can ship another of the same item to you.
