A Sister's Boutique & Clothier
Two heads are better than one, right!? Well, that is what they say and that’s exactly what these two vintage-loving sisters did. They put their heads together and joined forces. Heidi and Amber Beach decided to combine their creative spirits and entrepreneurial efforts into one collaborative online presence called: SkivvyLuLu - Boutique and Clothier.
Ever since they were young, these sisters have been obsessed with rhinestones and glamour, been mad about plaid, wild for style, and in love with all things vintage. Every weekend you could find them roaming the flea markets and second hand shops of Florida for special antique treasures and unusual clothing. Of course, it comes as no surprise there was the occasional sibling rivalry. What's a girl to do when there was only one flamingo pink 1950’s tulle swing dress to be found! Funny aside, their passion for art and style drove them out of the south and to the city of Chicago. First it was Heidi, making the leap to pursue photography and then, much to their mother's dismay, Amber followed to pursue her love of fashion. Both attended Columbia College of Chicago, Heidi obtaining a degree in photography and Amber in fashion design.
Heidi's vintage-inspired boudoir images and fashion photography made the local pages of Chicago’s New City and Venus Magazine. She was also published in "Mementos", photographs from the 6x6 Series published by Columbia College. Amber went on to start her own retro-inspired clothing line AmberLynn Designs. Amber's designs were sold online at CoutureCandy and small boutiques locally and internationally. Amber has evolved as a designer to include vintage inspired, upcycled jewelry.
Amber and Heidi's lifetime dream was to have a store of their own. They each have their own unique and personal flair, but combined, the two share an inspirational vision worth following.
