1 out of 5 starsAfter 8 weeks my order comes due and it hasn't even been started. Skyridge decides it's only fare they refund 50% and contests my case for three additional weeks.
In the end I did receive a full refund, thanks to the helpful people at Esty, and a 3 month long headache from Skyridge.SkyRidge responded on May 26, 2016
The buyer purchased a CUSTOM-MADE doublet. We had started the process of receiving measurements, drafting patterns, shopping for fabric and sending fabric photos for approval. However, the buyer requested additional fabric samples with emphasis on different colors. Rather than working directly with us to resolve any issues, he opened a case with Etsy and stated he was unaware he was purchasing a custom-made item. Our policies clearly state that a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit of 50% is required to start custom items.

Our main focus is on custom-made clothing for re-enactors, theater groups, living history associations, and weddings. Other times, we order supplies bulk quantities, allowing us to make these specialty items available to customers who would like to sew-their-own too.

Returns and exchanges
If you find that we've shipped you the wrong item or it is significantly different than what was described, notify us within 3 days of delivery. We will do what we can to fix the problem/replace the item.
If you have placed a deposit on a custom-made or customized piece of clothing, the deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE. This is because we start working on designing the outfit, remaking patterns, and shopping for your supplies right after we get descriptions and measurements from you.

Shipping
However we also have a child with special needs who spends a good deal of time in the hospital. Though we can check emails and such at the hospital, we obviously can't ship from there. If there will be delays in shipping, we will let you know so you can chose to either cancel the order or wait.
We try to estimate for combined shipping, but sometimes we miss the mark. If actual shipping/handling/insurance costs are more than $2 off, we will refund any difference to you.
Additional policies and FAQs
We estimate what we believe material and construction costs will be by comparing your description to previous outfits we've made. This estimate may change based on decisions or changes you make about your garment during the construction and fittings. We will keep you informed if any decisions are going to affect the final cost.
DEPOSIT: If your garment is estimated to cost less than $750, a 50% deposit will be required to begin work. If your garment is estimated over $750, a 33% deposit will be required. This DEPOSIT IS NON-REFUNDABLE once work on your garment has been started. The balance is due prior to delivery of your clothing.
FABRICS: We have several different fabric suppliers. Some keep the same, consistent inventory - which means we can re-order the same fabrics over and over again. This is great for basics such as shirting fabrics, 100% linen, wool sources, etc. But, this consistency usually means the fabrics are a bit more expensive. We generally reserve this option for customers who are special ordering specific garments.
We also have other suppliers where we go to their warehouse and hunt through rolls of mill-ends, "seconds," and other fabrics. Sometimes these are nicely labeled with content and care instructions. Sometimes they are sold as "unknown fabric content and unknown origin." Sometimes they have huge amounts of a single fabric on one visit, but then never again. Sometimes, they only have a couple of yards of something. This fabric is usually less expensive due to the unpredictability.
When we know the fabric content & care instructions, we will pass this information along to you. Sometimes we don't know enough to label it, but we can try to describe our experience with it (i.e. we know we've washed and pre-shrunk and entire bolt of fabric and it did just fine vs. we melted it when we used an iron!).
