Announcement    The Shop will remain OPEN, not to be closed Dec. 1-3 as originally planned.
For unique, eclectic home decor, check out my many new designs including horses, amphibians, birds, seahorses, mermaids, tea bowls, ink bottle holders, goblets, and other surprises all in beautiful glazes. I have been making my original, iconic cephalopod (squid, octopus) mugs since around 2007. Every piece is made with great attention to detail, from making the forms, sculpting the additions, refining, hand painting and glazing. These are not "Just" mugs or jars, they are functional works of art that will last decades with proper care.
Thank you for your past purchases and kind words. Your feedback on Etsy is appreciated. Pottery is heavy, so please consider the cost of Priority shipping ONE mug ranges from about $11-15 in the U.S. I have adjusted prices to reflect a slight discount while still covering my shipping costs. For more info on shipping, please read below.

I am happy to answer questions or send additional photos, and I really appreciate your Etsy review on purchases. Prices vary, depending upon size, complexity of the piece, and the glaze. I use recycled materials like shredded junk mail and previously used packaging for shipping to be as eco-friendly as possible, and I pack with great care. I no longer offer returns or exchanges, due to the fact that most folks will not pack as carefully as I do, and it is costly.
Therefore, please consider carefully before buying, and read the reviews from past customers.

NOTE: I can only do holds or reserves on items for 24 hours, due to limited availability and high demand. Sorry, due to new, complex and odious 2022 rules,
I CAN NO LONGER SHIP to Germany.

SHIPPING: If you are out of the U.S.A. and don't find a SHIPPING OPTION listed, please send me a convo message and I'll give you a shipping cost. Keep in mind that pottery is heavy- one mug with packaging generally weighs at least 1.5 to 2 lbs. Larger or multiple pieces are more. Multiple pieces may be shipped in more than one box. There is a 4 lb. limit for USPS regular mail before the cost jumps a lot. For a shipping option OTHER than Priority Mail, (safest and insured,) check the choices and you should be able to choose a different one, or MESSAGE me BEFORE buying for options like snail mail.

Sorry, due to new 2022 rules, I CAN NO LONGER SHIP to Germany. Thank You!

About Skybirdarts

Sales 452
On Etsy since 2008

Art is my gift, my safety net, and my joy.

Someone told me about Etsy. First I became a member, just to buy great hand-made items and find inspiration.

I took an 8-year break from pottery until 2022- not so much by choice, but because of a major move. I am so happy to get back to creating with clay again! It all started back in 2007 when I made a couple of specialty squid/octopus mugs for my daughter and her friend, and decided to post a few on Etsy. I suddenly had more and more requests and the shop was off and running. I have expanded the offerings to include many more themes and inventive designs.

I have a studio in my home, and there's always something new in the works! When I look back at how many pieces I've sold on Etsy, I'm actually quite stunned. People always like to ask, "How long did this piece take to make?" My answer, "About 45 years," which is true!

I have enjoyed connecting with other artists here, and appreciate the many talented and creative people who are finding markets for their work on ETSY. The world is truly our marketplace here- I have sent pieces to many countries since the shop opened in 2008.

Shop policies

Last updated on August 22, 2022
SKYBIRDARTS: Offers original ceramic art, sometimes whimsical jewelry, and other art. PRICES reflect the amount of time to create a piece, plus materials, plus size, design and complexity. Everything here is designed and made by me, the artist. My work represents years of practice, education and experimentation, all done with joy in the creative spirit. Some works are visionary, some are whimsical or humorous, and all are meant to inspire or be beautiful. If you have questions about anything, please ask. I hope you find as much joy in looking as I did in creating!

All art work is copyrighted to the artist and may not be reproduced by ANY means without the express written permission of the artist. Thank you.

Payment

PAY PAL and ETSY DIRECT CHECKOUT
I accept credit card payments through Etsy.
For Pay Pal- you do NOT have to have an account with Paypal, just click the Paypal button when you go through the checkout and look for the link to pay with your credit card!

Once payment is received your purchase will be shipped in the next couple of business days.

If you have any questions concerning an item, a policy, or anything else about my shop please feel free to convo me.

Shipping

Prices listed for shipping are for U.S.P.S. Priority Mail. If you prefer regular 1st class (snail) mail, send me a convo message before purchase, and I will adjust the shipping amount down. For overseas (and small items,) I prefer to use snail mail, since the cost is much less. Larger, heavier items can be shipped using the carrier of your choice. I generally ship the next business day after purchase.

Because stoneware is quite heavy and there is a 4 lb. limit per box before the price goes up considerably, I will sometimes ship in more than one box if you order several items. I will do refunds if your shipping is considerably less than what you paid. I also insure using ShipSaver through Etsy.

Most international parcels take about 2 weeks using regular 1st class mail, but I have had packages make it to New Zealand in under a week.

NOTE- If you are out of the U.S.A. and don't find a SHIPPING OPTION listed, please send me a convo message and I'll give you a shipping cost.
I sometimes reuse boxes for shipping, so let me know if you prefer a new box. I can also gift-wrap at your request. Thank You!

Additional policies and FAQs

I do accept custom orders with the caveat that there may be a waiting period due to the fact that I have other responsibilities, As always, please ask!
Namaste.
