I make scary things beautiful!
Seven years ago, I got my first reptile on a whim. After lots of mistakes, I began to learn more about these amazing creatures. Then came Sir Waffles Rothschild! For a solid year, I was terrified to hold him or do routine enclosure maintenance, but a random date night with my hubby and one too many margaritas would change all of that forever! Today, my zoo of creepy crawlies has grown to include three snake species, two lizard species, three tarantulas, a colony of Dubai roaches, and two isopod colonies. Sir Waffles has shown me that snakes are incredibly intelligent and full of personality. They also form bonds with their humans and will seek out the ones they trust(sounds a lot like love, right!?!). My boy loves kisses and removing my glasses from my face. He’s convinced that he’s a floor snake and gets embarrassed when he’s less than graceful. I’ve learned so much from the very creatures that once ruled my nightmares. Did you know that reptiles never stop growing? Growth slows as they age, but it doesn’t stop completely until death. My pendants are a reminder that it is not until we die that growth is complete. Mistakes are part of life. The important thing is to eventually outgrow and shed those mistakes away. Turn your mistakes into something beautiful. They are far less scary with that in mind!
