As far back as I can remember, creative activities always brought me immense joy, more so than any other type of activity. I tried literally everything...drawing, painting, ceramics, printing, photography, jewelry making, glassblowing...I even enjoyed using my body in creative ways through dance, gymnastics, and cheerleading. Since I used to struggle with expressing myself verbally, these outlets made me feel like I was showing that beauty and enchanted nature that lived inside of me on the outside in an experiential way.

Flash forward to my final year of college at UVM in the picturesque little city of Burlington VT. I majored in studio art and again - tried everything...and I had yet to feel drawn to a true focus. I was always up for trying new things of course, and so I found myself being re-introduced to a magickal plastic circle – a hula hoop. Now, at the time I had no idea the kind of powerful, life altering magick that was actually held inside that circle. As I continued to pick it up and try, I became addicted and eventually couldn’t put it down.

Much to my surprise, after graduation and a move to NY the hoop was the one thing I kept coming back to. It was the only thing that I could easily share with people and make some money doing. Ultimately it brought forth a whole world of flow arts and fire dancing, starting me on an incredible journey of professional fire performance, and illusion magic. After a while it was not just the hoop, but many, many other props. I started my first company called Fire Magick with my dance partner Seth soon there after. Performance swept me into a whirlwind of amazing opportunities, and with performance came costuming…

After some time I realized how I missed creating tangible things with my hands. The solution was staring me in the face – costuming!... Sewing was NOT actually one of the many art forms that I had spent time with over the years. I had a low budget, and I needed to look awesome if I wanted to get hired to perform more. This was the moment that my beloved slit weave technique was born! Before I had my sewing machine, I had to find a way to jazz up some of the outfits I already owned by adding detail and texture. I started slitting and weaving anything and everything. I discovered what worked and what didn’t, I evolved my technique and developed new patterns and ways to weave. Mostly all of my costumes consisted of something slit or woven, and were becoming more complex and detailed.

The next thing I noticed was all of the compliments and questions I would get every time I would wear one of my pieces. When I got my sewing machine, I really started tightening up my designs to what I felt was finally a professional quality. For about a year before opening up my shop, I had whispers in the back of my head telling me that if I just focus on this and run with it, it will be sustainable, and it will fuel the life of my dreams. It was time to share my designs with the world and make them available far and wide!

With the support of my amazingly talented husband Jason, I launched my first clothing line. Through my path of creative exploration, I was able to create the life I love! Even though it was hard at first, and overwhelming along the way...even though money was tight, and the pressure was on...I just took it day by day, and made sure to feel gratitude and celebrate every small success as they added up.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned through my life, it’s that all I have to do is just decide. Decide what I want, decide to be dedicated, decide to do it and follow through with it. In that way, literally anything is possible! I have always gravitated toward what felt good and right to me, and it has led me here to enjoy this chapter right now.

I am so pleased to be crafting these clothes that I know will make women and men all over the world feel beautiful, sexy, unique, and empowered. With each piece I weave in a bit of love and a bunch of magick, just for you!
