Announcement    My name is Sloane Kady, and I'm an inked-up watercolor illustrator, pop-surrealist acrylic painter, and wielder of comedy & curse words. I'm an author of two novels and several short psychological horror stories, and the creator of Blackweald press and Blackweald Horror. I'm also a producer on In Search for Darkness III. Most importantly, I'm a mama (my favorite job), and a wife (my other favorite job). Otherwise, I'm an all-around wild woman who loves horror, family nights, quiet, and being in bed by ten.

I've been dabbling in art since I was a wee whippersnapper, but I became more serious about my work in the early 2000s, when I was picked up by an art manager, and my then abstract paintings were featured in several gallery showings. I've since discovered myself, as both a woman and an artist. Where I used to create bland, timid pieces, I now create with unbridled joy and honesty. Several years back, I completed my Expression series—an exploration into the mysticism of womanhood. The expression series, which was picked up by a wholesale distributor, is a celebration of the woman I've become and the even wiser woman I hope to be. I'm currently working on my Mujeres Fuertes series—a playful yet deeply striking portrayal of femininity and strength in the face of pain, aging, and opposition. when I'm not writing, painting, or tending to my other pursuits, I'm illustrating.

In 2016, I participated for the very first time in Mab Grave's Drawlloween Club—a thirty-one day art challenge in which you create pieces based on a daily Halloween prompt. That first challenge breathed life into my love for illustrating. Since then, my skills have greatly developed, and my absolute passion for creating storybook illustrations has grown exponentially.

As evidenced by my shop, I'm a sucker for anything spooky, and I'm a lover of unconventional characters with a penchant for mischief.

PODGES: These stuffed art dolls/creatures are more than just precious and creepy—they're absolutely unique and are perfect for that impossible-to-shop-for friend. All podges are completely handmade with quality materials, from higher-end, thicker fabrics, to the best thread, to premium dyes and inks. All podges are filled with Poly-Fil, and their arms and legs are weighted with plastic beads.

Keep in mind that these are works of art. They're fine for children, but be mindful that, while well constructed, they aren't meant for play. Treat your podge with care and it will last for decades.

Also, podges are intentionally made with a messy, tattered finish for a vintage look. Frayed edges and funky stitching give each podge character.

PAINTINGS & PRINTS: Every piece is completely done by hand. Some pieces are mixed media, combining several different mediums (watercolor, ink, acrylic, graphite, dye). All original pieces are finished with light-fast mediums and will last for many years. Giclee prints are done professionally with archival ink on high quality, professional LEXJET premium archival matte paper, printed with brilliant, vivid colors.

All items come from a smoke-free/pet-free home and have been packed with much care.

COPYRIGHT:
All original paintings, prints, digital images of the paintings, cards, or any other representation made of original paintings are copyrighted by Sloane Kady and may not be used for any purpose without prior written consent. Damaged Items:

All items must be returned in original condition and packed with care. Return shipping, tracking, and insurance are the buyer's responsibility. These steps are highly recommended as any damaged item will not be refunded without proof of insurance. Upon retrieval of the item, it will be inspected, at which point a refund will be issued.
