Announcement   Welcome to Snibbles, a shop full of "little bits of creativity". Snibble was a word I picked up from my Great Grandmother when I was little to describe the bits of paper and cloth that I made when I found scissors that I wasn't supposed to have. The actual definition: snibble n. [From Pennsylvania Dutch slang.] 1. Small pieces of paper, material, threads or the like left over from cutting.

Now, "snibbles" represents my creations because I like to use found objects and bits of things to create one of a kind accessories for ladies tall and small. I find inspiration from vintage botanical prints and traditional floral folk art from South America and Europe.

Thank you for viewing my creations!

About

Collecting and designing is part of my heritage.

I have always been known as the "artsy" kid which I attribute to being surrounded by creative grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles, and friends from a young age. My own parents are creative types too, my mom being an avid crocheter, quilter, and crafter and my dad a design engineer, wood sculptor, and tinkerer. I went to school to be an art teacher and have been teaching public school kids since 2001.

Just recently I have finally settled in to what I love to make myself and that's eclectic jewelry and accessories for little and big ladies. Working with kids allows one to explore different media and techniques which I believe has influenced my ever changing style. My own kids are now in their "wonder" years, so I am taking a break from teaching and have created a home studio so we can create together. As mushy as that sounds, it's really true, even if they do get in to my glue and "special" scissors occasionally.

I live in Northern California just a short distance away from Apple, Google, and other tech giant headquarters, but if you look past the glass and metal office buildings, you can see that the Bay Area has so much diversity and it a true treasure trove of inspiration. I love going to festivals, the Maker Faire, the monthly flea markets, food truck rallies, and other events to collect ideas and materials. And my parents are now retired, but have become my estate sale and flea market supply buyers which I lovingly call my "antiquities procurement team".
