About

A little about my shop, family and me!

I'm supposed to be retired, I think I work harder today and definitely longer hours than ever!
I started my shop in 2008 with my own designs and patterns for stuffed animals, teddy bears, Scottie dogs, etc. My first sale was a disaster, my PayPal wasn't set up correctly and I lost the sale, 4 months later I had another sale...yikes! This is where the "design" part of the shop name comes from. We lived in central Maine and had a creek behind the house...I opened when there was snow on the ground....Snowy Creek Designs was born!

I soon started selling vintage linens that I truely love and the rest is history in this section!

My hubsand, AL, came aboard in 2015 when he retired. He does the woodworking and I design the items he builds. Many of our wood items are found in antique shops, I take photos and then rework the ideas to suit me.

We also added an embroidery machine in 2015, I buy vintage linens that were never used and put machine embroidery on them...this is why I have no time!!! LOL

That's the story of my shop, I try to buy "goodies" that I love and would like to keep...this can become a huge problem. I want to keep it all, especially the chenille bedspreads and Pyrex! Having said this, you also seem to enjoy what I buy :D

I'm married with 3 grown children, Michael is a retired LT on the Fire Dept, Michelle has one daughter and lives next door to Michael, Dawn is a lawyer and also has a shop on Etsy, as did Michelle. I have a black lab mix, Louie, he is a rescue dog and a huge handful! My hobby is geneology, been doing it for 20-30 yrs now. Recently, I found my connection to the Mayflower and I think Abraham Lincoln. My maternal Grandmother is Native American and all my relatives came from the Plymouth, MA area.

***We are honored to be featured in the Spring 2016 edition of Scroll Saw Woodworking & Craft Magazine. Our fretwork birdhouse will be the featured item!

Thanks for stopping in and taking some of your time to read about my shop, hubby, and me!
