SoCal Style started initially as a creative outlet for us. We found that at times the stresses of life took its toll and we did not have much time to do anything else. We are both very creative people and wanted to find something we could do that would showcase our creativity that would fit into our individual, hectic schedules. Hence SoCal Style was born.
Early on, the majority of our custom work came mainly from local businesses. We found this to be a great opportunity for us to connect with other business owners in the community, fuel our creativity while establishing ourselves as a small, local business. It gave us the flexibility to work on our craft while still taking care of our families (raising amazing humans is hard, time consuming work - just saying).
The biggest benefit we gained was that it allowed us to directly give back to our community. As parents, we have a soft spot for kids and want to make a difference in the lives of the children in our community. We proudly support the local food bank which offers a program called Backpack for Kids which supplies kids in need with food to sustain themselves when out of school during the weekends. 10% of all profits that we earn is donated to local charities. It is a rewarding feeling being able to give not only to this program, but two other charities as well. Along with SoCalBabyStyle our infant shop here on Etsy, we know are grateful for each sale and what that means for out community.
