About

Now, patterns ... patterns I understand!

I have always loved old things, and vintage things ... interesting old vintage things. I sometimes don't quite know what a vintage find is or how it was used, but sewing patterns I understand. I grew up learning how to sew, and enjoyed it, too. I loved the trek to "the material store" with my mom, and paging through the big, glossy pattern books. That store was a treasure trove of textures and sensations: Those dazzling buttons and buckles, pins and needles and scissors! Row upon row of bolted fabrics. Pastel, delicate laces. Trims and zippers and threads. I guess it just struck a chord in my little-girl heart, and that chord still echos to this day.

I study each and every pattern in our store - what can I say? I enjoy the design, the designer, the colors, from the oldest to the newest piece. I hope you enjoy browsing, and find something you just have to create!

Thanks for visiting So Sew Some! Be sure to check our other shops: http://skeeterbitz.etsy.com , and http://twobuckpatterntruck.etsy.com , and http://silksquare.etsy.com .

Sizing details

Remember to check your measurements against those listed on the pattern ... vintage pattern sizing varies from today's sizing charts!

A note about our Size Sections: Newer edition patterns are sometimes printed with multiple sizes, say sizes 10-12-14. Be sure to check overlapping categories for patterns that may have your size included. Example: You are looking for a pattern in Size 12. A pattern that includes Size 12 may be in the Size 8-10 Section. You can also use the "Search in This Shop" box located below our store header: Just type in Size 12, or Bust 34, or Skirt, Robe, whatever specific item you are searching for!

Gift wrapping and packaging

All patterns are enclosed in a clear sleeve after they have been inspected to ensure all pieces and instructions are included and useable. Although we do not tend to sell patterns that are incomplete, sometimes a pattern is just too darn terrific to not offer it for sale; should something be missing, we will note it in the description. You always receive the pattern shown in the listing - no replacements or reproductions, and we never touch-up or enhance the picture of the pattern envelope.

Our pattern shipments are stamped "Do Not Bend"; however, if you have a small mailbox and prefer that your postal carrier DOES bend your package in order to get it into your mailbox, please add a note on your order to let us know!

Reserving a Listing

We are happy to reserve an item for you, and will convo you when the reserved listing has been prepared. Unless otherwise arranged, a Reserved Listing will expire in 24 hours, after which the listing will revert back to a regular listing.
