What nature has already gave us and what it can do for you. Essential oils and their benefits.
It all started when my sister got some all natural soap as a gift 21 years ago. At the time I thought it was very expensive. I could not afford it and I remember her giving me a little sliver of soap. The soap was so creamy and lush, I loved it. I had to find a way to get some of that soap. My mother and grandmother made soap on the farm, but did not teach me. All the women in town had recipe books with there own recipes.
I found my mom’s old recipe book. My mother and grandmother’s soap recipes were in this book. I started making her soap recipes, added some of my own, and have not stopped. It took me years to create my clay complexion soap. It has evolved over the years.
My creative process: I walk out in my garden and see what herbs I smell and are ready to pick. I’ll sit outside by the stream and watch the animals. The deer, birds, squirrels and ducks usually inspire me and an idea will come to me. I write everything down, adding my recipes to those of my mother.
