Soap smells amazing! I wish it was wrapped a little more securely, since it is going to be a present, but I'm sure my brother will love it just the same :)

About

If this is the house that Jack built, I should thank him :)

This really started in 2002, when I bought my house. The previous owner had been a gardener, and although I had the opposite of a green thumb, it seemed a shame to let the roses die. I checked out a library book about pruning, which turned out to be the beginning of a very slippery slope. Bit by bit I became an avid gardener (and a Master Gardener for my county), adding veggies and flowers and chickens and compost heaps, and eventually beehives. After a while I became a honey judge and certified beekeeper, then a journeyman, and now I'm about to take my test to become a Master Beekeeper. I became a member of the local beekeeping association, then a member of the board. I started using honey and beeswax from my hives, and botanicals from my garden, to make soap and lip balm. And lo and behold, everybody wanted it! My best friend claims it calms her itchy skin. One coworker threw away all the other soap in her house. My husband shaves with a shaving brush because my shaving soap is the only thing that doesn't irritate his face. I'm still surprised, and thrilled, that everyone loves it so much. And my signature soap is still the plain honey-and-beeswax bar that I started with!

Welcome to my shop!

All my soaps are made using vegetable oils only- vegetarian and vegan friendly- and are handmade with as many ingredients as possible made or grown by me (or my bees, in the case of honey and beeswax). The only products that are remotely animal-related are the beeswax and honey, and local raw milk in a very few soap flavors. All bee products and botanicals are completely chemical-free; I don't use pesticides or fertilizers.
