Love this soap, almost thru the bar and my wife and I both have enjoyed it very much, noticeably softer skin and scent has lasted throughout use, not overpowering and just awesome

About

A Quest For Natural Goodness...

While visiting a local Farmer's Market many years back, I bought my first bar of handmade soap. Having recently read an article on the bath and body industry and the harmful chemicals in commercial soap, I was determined to make better choices about what went into and onto my body. When I used that first bar of soap it felt so much different, no tight feeling all over my body and as my wife stated no need to slather myself with lotion afterward. I felt clean but also surprisingly "moisturized". I was impressed...but just a few problems, the bar melted away FAST, was EXPENSIVE and while it claimed to be natural, the brightly colored swirls gave me some second thoughts. There was no label, no ingredients displayed....was it really natural or just handmade?

This question is what began my journey to create a truly natural bar of soap. One that was high quality, affordable, free of nasty chemicals and long lasting. I researched and researched made test batch after test batch and used my friends and family as guinea pigs (they didn't complain). I had some success and also some failures. When I was finally satisfied with a base soap I began to research and experiment with natural colorants, clays, tinctures, additives, essential oils etc... I also joined the Handcrafted Soap Maker's Guild which vastly improved my knowledge and gave me a good source for networking. Who knew soap making could be so interesting or complex.

If you would have asked me years ago if I would be selling my soap at Farmer's Markets, local stores and online I would have told you that you were crazy. I never dreamed of running my own business and never dreamed of making soap for a living but I can't deny that I "fell in love" with the art of it and while doing so found what I am truly passionate about. I hope you fall in love with it too! -Royce

Thank you for visiting the Something Green Natural Soap Shop

Unlike most mainstream personal care products, ours are free of preservatives, sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium laureth sulfate, phthalates, triclosan, FD&C dyes/colorants, petroleum products, synthetic fragrance oils and other damaging chemicals that are detrimental to our bodies and our world. Our products are also cruelty free. We do not test on animals; use ingredients that have been tested on animals or use animal fat in our products.

Our soaps are handcrafted in small batches using the old-fashioned cold process method, cut and then air cured for over 4 weeks. This ensures a high quality long lasting bar that retains the naturally occurring properties of the ingredients that we use. Our bars are also naturally high in glycerin, a humectant that leaves your skin feeling clean and fresh without stripping it of its natural oils.
