I use a variety of techniques and materials when designing and assembling my pieces. This gives me a wide range of prices. The more expensive items reflect the time, complexity, and cost of materials for the project. I love what I do and am very meticulous about all my work. I am always happy to answer questions. Please don’t hesitate to email me at m.caristi [!at] aol.com or caristi [!at] aol.com.
Chain Maille is an ancient art. Many of the patterns are taken from ages past. Instead of making armor, I make bracelets, necklaces, and earrings. I’ve been a Chain maille artist for over 25 years. All items are handcrafted. All my chain maille is sterling silver (925). I wind, cut, and assemble 1000’s of jump rings into a multitude of beautiful, unique pieces. I then add a sterling silver tag to them stating they are 925 silver and my initials are on the reverse side. I then polish them in a special solution in a vibrating polisher for over eight hours. My pieces are so shiny that most people can’t believe they are actually sterling silver. I love pulling them out of the vibrator. After all these years it is still like opening a Christmas gift!
I am also a Kumihimo Artist. It’s a Japanese form of braiding using a disk and 8 strands or more of beading cord, seed beads, artisan glass beads, and sterling silver beads. They are beautiful. I also use other methods such as brick, peyote, and square stitch.

It can be difficult shopping for jewelry online. Here are a couple of tips to help you. For earrings it helps to hold a ruler up to your ear piercing to judge how long the finished earring will hang. For bracelets, cut a piece of string the size of the finished bracelet and place it around your wrist. For necklaces do the same thing. Use a piece of string the length of the necklace. Allow for the size of the stones when deciding on the fit. This is especially important when deciding on the fit for a bracelet. If there are big beads or stones on the bracelet it will take up some of the extra length and make for a tighter fit.
Pictures are as accurate as possible. However, often colors on your computer monitor vary from the actual colors used. Usually the actual piece is more vibrant in color. Pictures also are not a good indicator of size. Please be sure to look at the actual measurements shown in each item description.
