Welcome to my Etsy shop, featuring original fine art paintings in oil and soft pastel.

I use artist-grade pastels and oil paints in my work, and all work is created on archival surfaces except where otherwise noted in the item description [usually, this will be pastel on industrial-grade wet-dry sandpaper - a durable material that I am confident will last for decades].

CUSTOM ORDERS: I will consider accepting commissions or custom orders in some cases; please convo me to discuss your request.

Payment
I currently accept Paypal as my preferred form of payment. I will also accept USPS money orders. I prefer not to take personal checks because our closest bank branch is 35 miles away, making trips to the bank inconvenient and infrequent.

Payment is due within 48 hours of purchasing a painting, and if not received by then, the order will be cancelled. Please contact me if there are any issues regarding payment.
Shipping
SHIPPING: I usually use USPS Priority or First Class mail to ship works, unless otherwise stated in the item description. If you prefer to use UPS or FedEx services instead, I will be happy to do this. Please note that buyer will be responsible for any additional costs associated with using these carriers, which will be added on to the stated shipping charges.

I make every effort to keep my shipping charges limited to the actual cost, which includes the price of materials, such as bubblewrap and boxes. I recycle packing materials when possible to cut down on these costs to you. In the event that my shipping charge exceeds the actual amount by $2 or more, I will issue you a refund for the difference.

PASTELS: paintings are secured between two pieces of foamboard using framer's tape, and covered with a sheet of glassine to prevent smudging during shipping. Depending upon the size, they are shipped in a manilla envelope or padded envelope (new). For oversized pieces, or those with purchased mat, I usually make a custom cardboard box. If matted and framed, artwork will be shipped in a box with packing peanuts and bubblewrap to protect against damage.

ACEOS: are shipped USPS 1st Class in small padded envelopes in a protective glassine sleeve (pastel). These must ship as a parcel, and the minimum postage charge is $1.71.

OIL PAINTINGS: are shipped in boxes with bubblewrap and/or packing peanuts or other cushioning material. I try to re-use boxes where possible, both to save you shipping expenses and to cut down on waste.

INSURANCE: shipping charges include insurance for all works $20 and over. This is generally against loss only; in my experience, the PO tries to avoid paying on damage claims whenever it can. In the event that the item is damaged via shipping, please contact me via Etsy convo or directly at sonyaj.dpm [!at] gmail.com, to discuss repair or replace options.

Shipping does not include Delivery Confirmation, which is redundant when item is insured, and a waste of money based on my experience and talking with USPS employees. If you wish to have it anyway, I can add it on to your shipping charges. Please let me know if you prefer any other or additional postal products, such as Signature Confirmation.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: Buyer is responsible for actual shipping charges, and any VAT or other import taxes. I follow customs guidelines, so please don't ask me to mark the item as a gift or to reduce its value to reduce any fees. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

Refunds and Exchanges
Your satisfaction with your art purchase is guaranteed. I do my best to accurately represent the painting you are buying via photos and descriptions, but please be aware that actual colors may vary due to inherent differences in monitor calibrations.

In the event that you find your painting to be less than satisfactory upon arrival, please contact me to discuss either return and refund, or exchange. Refunds do not include return postage fees.

PLEASE NOTE: for returns, item must be postmarked within 7 (seven) business days following date of correspondence requesting refund, and notifying me of the actual date shipped.

In the event that the painting is insured and lost by the carrier, I will assist where I can in the claims process, but I believe the responsibility is on the recipient to fill out the forms.
