Tokens of love, made with love. Your order goes to medical care for my cat, Sophie.

You know how crafting can be stress relief? That’s exactly how Sophie Sopherson & Co. came to be.

In mid-2020, one of my beloved cats, Sophie, started getting very sick. We spent months taking her to the vet twice a week for shots and weigh-ins, but her health quickly declined. In December, she had lost nearly half her body weight and was in the veterinary hospital for a week over the holidays.

During that time, I started playing around with Shrinky Dinks to distract myself from her absence. My sweet soul cat, Andy, never left my side while I worked—often trying to “help” sharpen my pencils or test out the strength of the tissue paper I used to wrap pieces, as well as reminding me to take important snuggle breaks.

As it turned out, people loved seeing their pets turned into unique magnets, keychains, and earrings—and it doesn’t hurt that Shrinky Dinks are fun to watch!

We thankfully were able to bring Sophie home, but will need lifelong medical attention for IBD and pica. (She is doing great so far!)

I opened this shop to help pay for Sophie’s medical expenses. And, it has provided me great joy to illustrate your loved ones!

Sadly, Andy suddenly and unexpectedly passed away in May of 2021. While he no longer physically oversees my work, I am all the more driven to honor his memory with each order I fulfill.

I take great care with each piece. Everything I make is lovingly drawn by hand with colored pencil or alcohol marker, and carefully shrunk and sealed before being sent home to you.

My little family and I sincerely appreciate you stopping by, and we are excited to get your order!

Frequently asked questions
Is Sophie okay?

For now, yes! In December, she had a feeding tube placed, which got infected, two endoscopes, and then surgery to remove an obstruction that was causing internal bleeding, requiring two blood transfusions.

She will require lifelong care for IBD, irritable bowl syndrome, but she has a relatively good prognosis for now. We are still learning how to manage this condition.

Do you accept returns, exchanges, or cancellations?

Because these items are hand drawn and custom made, I do not accept returns or exchanges.

If you are unhappy with your purchase, please message me with any issues.

If you wish to cancel your order, you must do so within 24 hours of your purchase. Otherwise, I may have already begun working on your order.

I appreciate your understanding. Each item takes 6+ hours to create, as I work diligently and with love to create an item that honors your loved one.

What do you do with my photos?

For custom orders, it is necessary that you share photos with me.

By placing an order, you consent to my use of that photo to create an artistic representation of it (your custom order). You also consent to me sharing images or footage of your custom order for marketing purposes, such as an example of what I offer in Etsy listings or on a variety of social media platforms, unless you specifically request otherwise.

Otherwise, I do not utilize your original files and may only retain them such as Etsy policies dictate for legal reasons.

If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me via email at kylie.l.kaspar@gmail.com.

How long will my order take—and why?

The answer is: it depends!

Factors impacting the order turnaround include volume of orders in the queue, complexity of the item, and the creation process itself—not to mention USPS delays.

Every order is completely custom made: Hand drawn from your photo onto a Shrinky Dink, baked, then sealed. Drawing the item alone can take 4-8 hours!

Due to the nature of the medium, occasionally the shrinking process proves difficult, and the design may become warped. I will never send you a subpar item, so that means I recreate it from scratch.

I work diligently to ship your orders in a timely manner, and commit to transparency and communication throughout the order process.

What if my item arrives damaged or is lost?

The shipping & handling fees you pay with your purchase from my shop cover insurance for your packages. Items are also carefully packed to protect them in transit.

If an item arrives damaged or is lost, please open a claim with USPS.

Do you do repairs?

While I stand by the quality of my items, they are still fragile.

Items like charms, earrings, or keychains that have a hole in them must be handled with care.

If your item is damaged within 14 days of confirmed USPS delivery, please message me with a picture of the damage. I will provide a return label for free. Processing times will vary.

If your item is damaged within one month of confirmed USPS delivery, please message me with a picture of the damage. At that point, I cannot guarantee free repair, but I am willing to work with you to find a satisfactory solution.
