Southern Bella Vintage was born out of my love to frequent flea markets, estate sales, and garage sales for found objects to incorporate into my jewelry designs. While I was out junkin, I have also found vintage items along the way. I started looking for a creative outlet to sell all of my beautiful vintage treasures and I think Etsy is just the perfect fit!

I have created each of my jewelry designs using a combination of found antique, vintage and deadstock pieces. I love the idea of upcycling these forlorn materials and giving them a new lease on life, making them desirable and wearable once more.

Vintage materials seem to hold a little karma from their past lives. I am drawn to the weathered age and patina of vintage pieces because those are signs of a life well lived. It's the history of each piece that I wonder about. Who were the original owners? What was their life like? What was their story? Because of that I believe my jewelry should show evidence of this through patina that only genuine age and wear can bring.

I love to rescue vintage items to recycle and sale in my store. Most of the items I bring to the shop are from the Edwardian Era all the way through to the Retro 70's. I am a strong believer in protecting our environment and buying vintage items is the chicest form of recycling. The workmanship of vintage items is unsurpassed. They are extremely well made and can last far beyond their years compared to items that are made today. Some of my favorite pieces that I can never pass up are vintage handbags, jewelry and interesting home décor items.

It is always a joy to find a really awesome vintage item or design a piece of jewelry that I can pass on to others who will love it as much as I do!
