I love making cold process soaps, wooden wick candles, creating new scents, so you can experience a little bit of our southern charm!

It all began over 20 years ago when I made my first batch of cold process soap! I tried several times over the years to make this a full time business, but I really never had the time I needed to pursue it! In 2002 Southern E-Scentuals name was born, I use essential oils in a lot of my products and love the south, although I am not a native southerner, I have now lived in Georgia longer than my birth state and feel this is my home and I am really happy to be a part of the south, I love the scenery, the traditions, the food, and this passion comes out in my handmade products!

I discovered Etsy in May of 2015 a place where I could sell my handmade products, so I opened a shop, and have learned a lot along the way, finally in 2018 I was able to take this 20 year old dream and work full time at what I really love, creating unique scents which let you experience a little bit of our southern charm!

Returns and exchange details
All Sales are Final, unless one of your items arrives damaged or broken, please contact me via convo thru Etsy with in 24 hours of receiving the product and/or products ordered. Three photo's of the damaged items, must be provided. Please include pictures of the box and package materials it was shipped in.

You will have the option of receiving a full refund for the replacement value of the item damaged, this will also include shipping or you may request to have a replacement item of equal value sent to you, pending this item is available.

Note: If your item was a custom order, and you want a replacement Southern E-Scentuals will need a minimum of 5 business days to remake the item.

Note: International orders are final. Southern E-Scentuals is not responsible for any lost, damaged or un-received items.

Note: Southern E-Scentuals is not responsible for items that have been lost in shipping, a tracking number is sent to you when your items have been marked shipped. You must take it up with the carrier, ask them to use the GPS tracking system to see where it was delivered exactly! Some more helpful tips to finding your package:

1. to check with neighbors to see if the package was left with them either on purpose or by accident.
2. to check with family members – it is not unheard of that someone else in the household will pick up the package and put it somewhere out of plain sight
3. ask the delivery postal worker where he/she left the package.
4. call their local post office to see if it sitting there.

If the package still cannot be located, after the above steps have been taken then Southern E-Scentuals advise you to take this action, this information is provided by the USPS Consumer & Industry Manager:

1. file a police report with his/her local police department
2. report the theft to the Postal Inspection Service by
a. calling 877.876.2455 between 8:00am-4:30pm – select option #3
b. completing the “Mail Theft - Mail Not Received Complaint Form” online at postalinspectors.uspis.gov/radDocs/Mail_Theft_Complaints.pdf

The seller will need to provide the buyer with the following information so the “Mail Theft-Mail Not Received Complaint Form” can be properly completed.

Shipping
Shipping methods are calculated by weight of the item, packaging, zip code and when you want it to arrive. Processing times vary for each product and from time to time unexpected things happen causing shipping to take longer than normal, if this happens you will be sent a update on the process and a new ship date .

If for some reason, Etsy has calculated the shipping incorrectly (especially when you have purchased multiple items at one time), then I will refund back to you the overages of greater than $2.00.

Priority Shipping comes with $50.00 worth of Insurance and a Tracking Number.

If you use a Free Shipping Coupon or a listing that includes free shipping your package will be shipped USPS ground and will not include insurance!

*International orders will not come with insurance, unless you specifically request. Their will be additional charges to register a package for insurance for international shipping.

Soap Care Instructions:

Handmade Soap: Before use test on a small area of your skin, to ensure you will not have an allergic reaction, if an allergic reaction occurs, discontinue use immediately!

External Use Only! This soap is not intended to treat, cure or diagnose any skin ailments you may have!

Wet bar to begin the lather. Make a rubbing motion directly in your hands or with a washcloth or a bath pouf.

After use place soap in a well drained area, best if soap is placed on a slotted soap dish. This will help in preserving your handcrafted soap longer and preventing it from getting too soft, and turning into a liquid gel.

General Candle Care

All Southern E-Scentuals candles are made to order. Soy Wax actually needs a cure time, for fragrance oil to bind to the wax. Best to light candle after one week of it being made and better if you can wait two weeks.

Optimal Burn: Light candle and burn until melted wax reaches the edge of the container. Reduce soot by trimming the wick to 1/4 " and centering the wick each time the candle is lit. Remove any debris in the candle.

Warning! Never leave burning candle Unattended! Keep out of reach from Children! Keep away from pets. Keep wax free of any debris. Do not move while candle is burning or wax is hot. Do not extinguish candle with Lid. Failure to follow instructions could result in fire, injury, or smoke damage.

Do not be alarmed when your order arrives in a box from a grocery store or another company and your packaging materials in your box are mismatched, this just means I recycled! 😀

Air Freshener Care Instuctions

Aroma Bead Air Fresheners hold up to 30% to 40% more fragrance oil than your typical cardboard air freshener and will last between 1 to 3 months, depending on the type of fragrance used. If kept in package unopened it can last up to 6 months or longer. Heat and air flow help to activate the fragrance.

AIR FRESHENER WARNING:

Please keep out of reach of children and pets, this is NOT A TOY! Air Freshners contain fragrance oil and candle dye and can stain, do not place air freshener on porous surfaces like, wood, painted wood or plastic. Please keep the packaged sealed until ready to use!

What is that white-ish color on my candle?

If you've ever seen a white-ish color coating on chocolate, then you have a good idea of what frosting looks like in soy wax. It is a natural byproduct of a natural wax and in no way affects the burn ability or fragrance of a candle. It is caused by tiny crystal growth that forms on the top and sides of the wax.

Generally frosting occurs or is more likely noticed in candles that have been dyed.

Temperature changes also cause frosting in 100% All Natural Soy Wax and once candle is burning and the Soy Wax heats up the frosting will disappear.

Wood Wick Candle Tips

Wood Wicks is a natural product and is temperamental at times. When first lighting a wood wick make sure it burns completely to the edge of the container, this is called reaching full melt pool! This can take up to 3 hours to reach.

The wood wick needs the melted wax to fuel the wick and keep it lit.

Re-lighting your wick, make sure the charred wood is removed and hold match close to wick at the same time, melt some wax to help fuel the wick. Tilting jar also helps with re-lighting. If for some reason the wick will not stay lit, remove some of the wax around the wick with a spoon and try re-lighting again. You will begin to see the flame take off, because it has absorbed enough of the melted wax to keep flame continually burning.

How to cancel an order

Cancellation must take place with in 24 hours of placing your order. You will receive a refund of the item or items purchased plus shipping fees less the processing fee and transaction fee through Etsy. If 24 hours have passed and you still want to cancel your order and production has not begun, then I will cancel less the fees through Etsy, but if production has begun on your order it will not be cancelled.
