Using art to reach the world!
I have always loved to draw. Ever since I was a little girl, I have always dabbled in some form of art or another. I have often wondered how I can use my artistic abilities to bring honor and glory to God. It is hard to make every drawing tell the story of salvation. It’s difficult to make the pencil move in such a way that each stroke conveys the message of God’s grace. I just can’t do it.
SparrowFall Designs does not solve that problem. Not entirely. There are still days when I’m not sure if my actual art really will or can point people to God. I hope it somehow could. But art cannot say all the words my heart would wish to express. SparrowFall Designs is a business where I will be selling note cards and other writing materials with copies of my pen and ink drawings. Lord willing, I’ll be branching out into other things eventually. Right now all I offer are note cards, stationery, envelope sized stationery, recipe cards, and elegant hand written addressing services. But one thing at a time.
SparrowFall Designs is not one hundred percent ministry; God has not led me to that at this point. However, at least twenty percent of everything made will go towards helping to spread the gospel throughout the world and helping those in need. Lord willing, one day I’ll be able to up the percentage. I am excited to finally be able to use my art for something besides just practicing, gifts, or for pleasure. God has graciously bestowed an amount of artistic ability on me, and I know that I am unable to draw without the help of the One who made my hands. I have spent some time polishing and working (but not near as much as I should), and my shop is the result. I pray that God will grow this business as He sees fit and blesses those who are benefited by it.
Yes, I have plans for SparrowFall Designs. Things I eventually want to do. Whether God continues to lead my path through those plans, I don’t know. I’m hoping He will, but if He does not, I pray that I will have the grace to lay aside my plans and do His. So, Lord willing, the eventual plans for SparrowFall Designs… I’m hoping to expand my stock to include place cards, business cards, post cards, invitations, etc. and many new designs will probably pop up as well. I’d like to eventually offer jewelry, art, and other gift items in my shop as well. We’ll have to see what happens!!!
