Announcement    February 2023
It is hard to believe so much time has passed since I last updated everyone. 2022 was a year of growth and transition. I started a part time job that helped me to create better routines, set boundaries and ultimately find my voice again. I quite that same job at the beginning of January when I knew it was time and the lessons I needed to learn, I did. It was also the year I started The Zen Den, an extension of Speak 2 Your Soul.

I've been practicing reiki now for almost three years. 2021 was the first year I began using reiki with others. The universe aligned a perfect location for me to begin practicing it more often. This step led me to starting in person classes this year based off of my book On Purpose with Purpose 365. This is our fourth year working with the book since it published in 2019 online. I love holding space for others as they bridge the gap back to feeling and living more authentically here and now. You'll notice I added distance reiki, intuitive oracle readings and class passes to the Etsy Shop!

I started a publishing company with two amazing woman I love and adore in 2021. We're about to publish a new book soon, so be on the lookout! We got the privilege of publishing two authors and illustrators in 2022. You can find both of their books on Amazon "Ballerina Bright Finds Her Voice by Ellen Reed and Dream Wishes by Kristin Soltis"

This year's motto is "Life gets better and better every day in every way." I'm wishing you the same this year. Thank you for supporting my shop, my passions and my purpose in life. I'm grateful for every sale that allows me to continue this journey.

WOW what a year it has been! We have experienced some amazing transformations this year. I auditioned and was chosen to be a featured guest speaker on Creating Happiness for The Walk the Talk Speaker Series. Rodney was given a job opportunity and so we picked ourselves up and relocated to Lexington, Kentucky shortly after my debut. Our time there was an adventure but ultimately we learned what was needed and returned to Bloomington four months later, I even listed my items for sale at a cute little coffee shop called "High on Art and coffee" in our time there. Ultimately that experience lead Rodney to starting his own Business and I am thrilled to cheer him on and use my business degree and life planning back ground to assist him as his business grows! Aside from starting to work with clients helping them plan and execute their desired outcome I also started to creating On Purpose With Purpose 365. November 30th was the official kick start of my independent kick starter to raise the needed funds to publish my planner, journal, self discovery workbook combo. Update May 1, 2017

Our new venture has begun as old adventures have lead us to this point. Beyond Clay Gauges permanently shut down in January when Amie experienced a profound ah ha moment and new to the core of her that there was a new venture to be had.

Following her heart and intuition Beyond Clay Gauges has done exactly that...gone beyond what we once were. Life flows always, it is our choice if we flow with it or go against it. The one we choose makes a difference on how you feel. I choose to go with the flow and adjust as needed so here we are. Speak 2 Your Soul, still clay but in a whole new way. From personal accessories to both accessories and personal care.

Speak 2 Your Soul in a nutshell is about developing a deeper love for yourself and others. Don't take my word for it, try it and see just how much it impacts your life.

We've cut back on shows this year during our rebranding and developing but we are so excited to be attending PlayThink June 14th-18th 2017 in Berea, Kentucky. Beyond Clay Gauges and the Adventures of 2016

From 2015 to 2016

For me, 2015 was the year of discovering self sabotage and with that the power within, god given, that has allowed me to stretch beyond my limits and helped me to see anything is possible in 2016 and beyond.

2016 has been a year of self reflection and self growth and for the most part I have welcomed such changes with open arms. The largest wisdom I’ve gained this year is letting go, something I thought I had started to learn but apparently I was only scratching the surface of.

I thought I had things figured out but I’m realizing figuring things out only makes things harder. Once you have that idea or concept life happens and you suddenly begin to question many things that had there not been such an expectation it would have been that much easier not to be affected by it when it didn’t go as planned.

The Florida Keys

We started our year by taking our first real vacation to the Florida Keys. We had planned to do all the fun things kayak, parasailing, go diving, and more but ended up playing dice in our tents to get through the cold and rainy weather. You know what they say there is always a silver lining. I still got kissed by a dolphin and got to paint on the shores of the beach. We walked much of the beach daily and even had what felt like our private beach at times. We got to explore much of Bahia Honda State Park and it was simply beautiful. We will return to take advantage of warmer weather and more activities in the future!


The Plot Twist

No one knows what the future holds and being open to allowing things or peoples to enter and exit your life allows for much easier and far less painful transitions. Although things came to an interesting plot twist in March with Rodney’s half brother joining us until he graduates school we still pursued what we had set forth to do and with it many adventures and wisdom’s have come to play.


The Colder Months and Spring

Working through the months of the colder weather we prepared for local shows and the ones that would be more distant in the summer. We worked a few local shows including Artisan Alley and The Woolery Market leading up to Spring. I also had my first gallery hanging at The Gather Handmade Shoppe where I hung over 18 beautiful pieces I created through the process of dance using hula hoops. I taught my first workshop locally focusing on the technique and application of paint using dance and hula hoops.

And Then The Summer Came

We made the leap. I left my job, Rodney left his, we know had a teenager and a summer to make our dream come true. The dream to become self sustainable as artists and entrepreneurs. Our first summer show was Good People Good Times, and that they were! I taught my first festival workshop!

We later traveled to Kentucky in June and Michigan in July meeting some of the most fantastic people, and communities that thrive for love, connection, and growth. We saw children play, and learn, and grow both old and young. Relationships develop between perfect strangers. We embraced nature both in the good elements and bad. It was beautiful and everything I had hoped for but hard, stressful, and a lot of work at the same time. It didn’t take long to figure out why they say starving artist. We were doing alright but was it enough?

At both locations I taught my hula hoop painting workshop and what a blast it was to share my passion. People smiling, paint flying, and art being created all in the matter of a class. My largest class had to have been at PlayThink where I taught young kids and grown kids alike totaling around 12 people. I was also blessed to attend a few workshops learning from two people I have always admired in the hooping community, Baxter and Brecken. These memories I hold so dear! The experience and people were well worth it, had we not made the leap we would have never experienced what we did.

Reality Kicks In

We knew there was a risk that we would have to get back to the grind if financial security come to question and sure enough it did. So we did what was necessary and went back to the daily grind of balancing a job with life. It didn’t mean our adventure or business was over, it just meant it was time to let go of where we were and embrace the next phase of where we needed to be.

We never went without, things were hard to balance at times but we always figured it out, we had faith that all things work out and they always did. It was time to regroup our thoughts, to get back to the basics, to finding gratitude for what we did still had and for the wisdom’s we had gained over the summer as fall was approaching.

When you get in a place of struggle and of uncertainty, when things are stripped away from you, and you can begin to feel despair but it is an opportunity to be grateful for the things that remain. Nothing seems as bad when you begin to find something you can be grateful for.

So we decided to back off of doing as many shows while we worked to get stable, it was a necessary evil but not the end.

So Here We Are, Moving Forward

It’s almost December and it’s hard to believe this year is coming to an end. With it being the day after Thanksgiving I’m finding much to reflect on and to be happy and thankful for. While our business didn’t take off to the point of being self sustainable I’m grateful our sales on Etsy have tripled compared to last year, we’ve shipped items to 17 states now with a total of 46 sales, and have taught workshops and sold our goods in 4 states and took a trip to a fifth state. What a year it has been! The struggle at times has been real but the outcome has been immeasurable.

Our goal to become self sustainable hasn’t changed, only the course in which we are sailing. Sometimes you have to trust the wind and let it take you. Resist less, let go more, and be grateful always. You will arrive exactly where you were meant to be.

As Jarrett continues to finish school (Class of 2018) Rodney and I will still be working, planning shows and trips, and creating art. We still have the desire to become self sustainable and with that has come the desire to build a tiny house on wheels in order to achieve our goal. I don’t know how long it will take but were planning on taking our time and allowing things to fall into place naturally over the next two years. We’re looking forward to 2017 and all the adventures it has to offer! Thank you to each of you for your support and for joining us on this adventure we call life!
