Soft and Colorful
I love colors and mixing colors together. I love the surprise you get when you dye something and the colors intermingle and you get just pure loveliness. I want to be able to share that with other people, so I hope that you enjoy what you see in my shop.
The name of my shop, which is also the name of my blog, Spincerely yours, came about when I learned to spin and I was writing a thank-you note to the lovely lady who loaned me my first wheel. Instead of signing the card "Sincerely yours," I signed it "Spincerely yours." As I was writing the note with my sister nearby, it just cracked us up and it stuck. As a shop name, I think it is very appropriate as I truly am Spincerely yours.
New to Spincerely yours for Summer 2012 is the Bunny Love Collection by Jade. Jade is raising Angora Rabbits as part of her Student Agricultural Experience for her High School Agriculture Program. Besides learning about raising rabbits, she is acquiring the skills for processing their fiber and marketing it. She is currently blending her rabbit fibers with a drum carder and making great graphics for her products. She is even going to attempt to learn some spinning! The Bunny Love Collection will sell through my shop in its own section. Welcome Jade!

Additional policies and FAQs
Please note that my home is smoke free and dog free. We are a kitty/bunny friendly house. I use either Soak or Eucalan to rinse of any of my fibery items.
Samples:
If you are interested in a small sample of any of my fibers just contact me to make arrangements.
Items and colors:
Color names are more of a general idea or "philosophy" of a color and not an exact color pattern. Sometimes, I have additional roving that is not listed yet which may be a companion (i.e. dyed on the same day) to one that is listed, so please feel free to contact me with inquiries.
Roving:
My "rovings" start out as commercial top. I have decided for consistency to refer to all my hand-dyed fiber from commercial top as roving. In a true top all the fibers are smooth and parallel - the perfect set-up to spin a worsted yarn. Once the top is hand-dyed and soaked and rinsed, etc. I feel the top has been disrupted enough to not completely qualify as having all the fibers perfectly smooth and parallel. At this point the yarn spun could be either a form of worsted or a form of woolen. I know this can be a controversial subject, but I feel at this time that most spinners refer to spinning fiber that is not in batt form as roving especially when searching in Etsy.
Green initiatives:
*Dyes are set with solar heat from late spring to early fall.
I've stared to use Greener Shades dyes on some rovings and yarns. I will note this in the item description. According to the website, http://greenershades.stillrivermill.com/, "Greener Shades TM is a non-hazardous, non-chrome, low impact, heavy metal-free acid dye."
*All electricity used in my home is generated by renewable resources (http://www.communityenergyinc.com/).
*All packing slips are printed on 100% recycled paper.
*Used ink cartridges are donated to a local Audubon Society chapter fundraiser.
*My shipping bags and packing tape are biodegradable and the shipping bags are also reusable.
*Watch for more green initiatives to be added on an on-going basis.
Thanks!
