About

Vintage Accessories and Clothing with Presence

SplendoreBoutique was founded in 2012, to provide gorgeous vintage accessories and apparel, curated and restored by an artistic eye and hand. Each of our items has a presence and tells its own story from its unique era, culture, music, and socioeconomic standing. We focus more on accessories because the same one outfit can be styled many ways with different accessories - it is the shoes, bags, belts, and such that become the focal points to expand the wardrobe.

Our home is in the middle of America, surrounded by trees as you can see. Sometimes deer and owls join us. There are a lot of wonderful vintage finds out here and I hope you like browsing them and find something special for yourself. I am a painter by training, specializing in color and light. Weekend mornings find our kitchen filled with glue, paint, shoe polish, sewing supplies, and coffee.

Good communication is key. Please email me if you have questions or if there is a problem. I want my customers to not be stressed. If you are happy, I'm happy.
Excellent vintage condition means it is in very very good shape, but not mint.
All my items are described to the best of my knowledge. Additional pictures may be provided upon request.

Payment
Paypal and Direct Pay are both available. Money orders and reserves are not possible, sorry. Layaways however area good option for orders over $100, with 1/3 down, 1/3 for the second payment, and 1/3 for the third. These are made upon initial agreement, two weeks later, and two weeks later, to be completed in one month.
Shipping
Any international customs charges are paid by the buyer. Please do not ask me to list a lower amount on the customs documents as this is illegal. I use recycled shipping materials whenever possible and usually ship within 1-3 business days after item has been paid for.

If your item is taking a bit longer or the tracking is looking like it is going somewhere else just write me. I will get right back to you and help you solve it. It also helps to go to your local station with the tracking # and ask about it, they may have tried to deliver and you may not have seen the carrier slip.
Refunds and Exchanges
Return policy: Returns must be within 15 days of purchase.

If I described it accurately, and you just don't want it or it does not fit right, I will refund the price of the item but buyer pays the shipping both ways and of course any import fees. There will be a 20% restocking fee, and the item must be in its original condition. If you are in the US it needs to be insured for its full value.

Although less common, there have been times when I made a mistake in describing an item regarding either size or quality. In these cases I apologize and of course accept the merchandise back for a full refund. I refund shipping both ways in these cases.
Additional policies and FAQs
In my opinion, shoe sizes have perhaps become a half size smaller through the years. Even so, if a vintage shoe reads size 7, I state it is a size 7. A or N means it is narrow. The more A's or N's, the more narrow. B is "average" width, C is wide, and D is more wide. A markings are in pre- 1970 shoes, N's are post.

Shoe measurement protocol:
- Take a shoe of similar design that fits you well. Note especially the shape of the toe.
- Take a long thin strip of paper and put it inside to take a measurement of the entire length from toe to heel; and also across the widest part of the ball of the foot, which is called the instep.
- Make a mark on the paper for each and compare it to a ruler.
