Ich bin ein abstrakter Künstler aus Südkalifornien. Ich bin verrückt nach den leuchtenden Farben der Volkskunst, insbesondere nach den herrlichen, knalligen Farben der südamerikanischen Kultur.

Meine Leidenschaft für Farben drückt sich in lebendigen, temperamentvollen abstrakten Gemälden aus. Der Malprozess, das Spiel mit energiegeladenen Farben, belebt mich und lässt mich lebendig fühlen. Der Prozess bewegt mich absolut, was sich in meiner Arbeit widerspiegelt.

Meine Kunstwerke sind von der Natur inspiriert. Während ich male, werde ich tief in einen stimmungsvollen, magischen Wald entführt, hinaus auf eine helle, lebendige Wiese, auf der das Gras in sanften Wellen über die Prärie weht, und ich blicke selig auf die satten und faszinierenden Farbtöne einer weiten Wüstenlandschaft. Die Magie, die ich beim Malen spüre, ist für mich elementar, erdend und spirituell; eine Möglichkeit, meine tief empfundenen Emotionen und Erfahrungen auszudrücken.

Ich verwende bei meiner Arbeit eine Vielzahl von Medien, Werkzeugen und Techniken; hauptsächlich arbeite ich jedoch mit Acrylfarben, darunter Gouache, Acryl-Gouache und Acrylfarben von flüssig bis dickflüssig. Ich liebe, liebe, liebe Pastellöle, auch wenn sie etwas chaotisch sein können. Und ich spiele auch mit Acrylmarkern und Aquarellstiften und -farben herum. ALLES, was interessant aussieht, wird zu einem Malwerkzeug, auch meine Finger! Sehen Sie, es ist für mich wirklich eine spielerische, experimentelle Erfahrung! Es gibt nichts Besseres im Leben als eine leere Leinwand, Farbe und die endlosen Möglichkeiten, die sich einem bieten!

Aus folgendem Grund verzichte ich lieber auf die Versiegelung meiner Bilder mit Lack: Ich verwende viele verschiedene Medien mit unterschiedlichem Glanzgrad von matt bis hochglänzend. Ich liebe die Bewegung des Lichts auf meinen Arbeiten ohne Lack; den baumwollartigen Look von Gouache, das Glitzern von Metallics, den pudrig-cremigen Look von Ölpastellen. Um die Integrität dieser wertvollen Medien zu bewahren, habe ich mich daher dazu entschieden, auf die Versiegelung meiner Kunst zu verzichten. Aus diesem Grund wird meinen Sammlern empfohlen, ihre Kunstwerke unter Glas zu legen, insbesondere die Werke, die Ölpastelle enthalten.

I am an abstract artist located in Southern California. I am crazy about the vibrant colors found in folk art, especially those gorgeous popping colors found in South American culture.

My passion for color plays out in vivid, spirited abstract paintings. The process of painting, playing with energetic colors exhilarates me, making me feel alive. I am absolutely moved by the process, which is evident in my work.

My artwork is inspired by nature. As I paint, I am taken deep into a moody, magical forest, out into a bright, lively meadow, the grass moving softly in waves across the prairie, and looking out blissfully towards the rich and captivating hues of an expansive desert landscape. The magic I feel as I paint is elemental to me, grounding, and spiritual; A way to express my deeply felt emotions and experiences.

I use a variety of mediums, tools, and techniques in my work; however, I work primarily with acrylic paint including gouache, acryl gouache, and acrylics from fluid to heavy weight. I love, love, love pastel oils, albeit they can be a bit messy. And I goof around with acrylic markers and watercolor crayons and paints as well. ANYTHING that looks interesting becomes a painting tool, including my fingers! You see, it really is a playful, experimental experience for me! There is nothing better in life than a blank canvas, color, and the endless possibilities at hand!

I prefer not to use a varnish to seal my paintings for this reason: I use a lot of mediums ranging in sheen from matte to high gloss. I love the movement of light on my work without a varnish; the cottony look of gouache, the twinkle of metallics, the powdery-creamy look of oil pastels, so to preserve the integrity of these precious mediums, I made the decision to skip the process of sealing my art. Because of this, it is suggested that my collectors place their artwork under glass, especially those pieces that include pastel oils.
