We Offer Free Re-Sizing & Re-Finishing for all Spoon Ring Purchases for the Life of the Ring

Here at Spoonier on Etsy you'll find solid sterling silver~ Victorian, Floral, Animal, Masonic, Art Nouveau and Deco spoon rings, and many other styles. Our favorites are detailed floral and figural spoon rings, from lilies to daisies to chrysanthemums, and from goddesses to farm animals! Our organic designed rings hearken back to a time when silverware design was not only seen as art, but also as a celebration of nature. We specialize in unique and unusual sterling silver spoon rings, and all our spoon rings are made from original vintage silver spoons.

{ANSWERS TO COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS}:

~1 There are many ways we can help you find your ring size! Or adjust a size after purchase. Just send us a message!

~2 We offer Free finishing! We brush finish all of our handmade rings, but do offer a few different finishing options:
- Cloth Polishing- shiny but still vintage with a satin brush finish slightly visible and still dark in the crevices
- Re Brush- keep the satin brush finish, but make the patina/ tarnish lighter
- Combination of 1 & 2- Lighten the patina with a re Brush, then give it a cloth polish.

(Quick explanation of what a "Brush Finish" is: All of our spoons are annealed and cleaned in pickle before they are bent- thus removing all natural patina. After bending and rounding, we apply a rapid oxidation with liver of sulfur that makes the entire ring black. We then remove this patina on all of the raised surfaces of the spoon ring with a microfiber wheel brush. This gently removes the patina from the more ornate parts of the ring and the inside of the ring by brushing it with the microfibers. This gives it a more satin finish that is easier to photo and looks more Vintage- Hence: Brush Finish)

~3 Feel free to ask us about our Contact List for items you may see that are no longer in our store or if you have a specific pattern you'd like to request.

~4 We do not offer engraving at this time, but we do remove them for free!

~5 To ensure a good fit, make sure to measure your finger from knuckle to knuckle and compare it with the amount of mm indicated in the ---specs--- location of the listing.

~6 We do offer FREE re-sizing on all Spoonier SPOON ring orders- no expiration! Some rings may be able to be pinched down a little, but due to the soft Sterling we use, many tools used may scratch or dent the silver! So the best thing to do would be to send it back to us, or get it sized at a local jewelry store. Please message us for details.

~7 Please allow 3-10 business days for domestic orders to arrive, and be sure to include a ring size if you weren't able to in the ordering process. Faster shipping available upon request.

About

Love of: Photography, Antiques, Precious Metals and Jewelry = Spoon Rings!

Let me tell you how Spoonier started...
In late 2010, Mike and Josh had just left a high-end Jewelry shop and wanted to make use of their jewelry knowledge, yet keep the freedom to travel. Being jewelry designers, and huge fans of Art Nouveau fashion, Mike & Josh couldn't help noticing their friend's gold and silver refinery shop getting in stunning sterling spoons from the turn of the century as well as vintage jewelry- AND THEN MELTING THEM. They knew they could save these spoon's original beauty and offer some really unique jewelry as spoon rings. So Mike with his knack for finding the most unique spoons, and Josh who is a jeweler with a desire to work with upcycled materials would unite with the freedom that Etsy had to offer and made an amazing team!
But they were missing a feminine touch...
Mike and I (Tami) reunited in early 2012 after not seeing each other for 16 years- and right in the nick of time! I was recovering from a neck injury that hindered my ability to continue working as a full time massage therapist and I was looking for something that could enable me to spend more time with my children and pay the bills. I saw Spoonier and watched at first. But I couldn't just watch, and offered my assistance and stepped in to offer some changes to try to improve on how the spoon rings fit on the fingers. Then I was taught the bench work of making spoon rings and casting... I absolutely LOVE playing with fire to make beautiful heirloom pieces.... I'm in! Spoonier has team member #3.
Answering all of the Etsy convos enables me to have a fresh idea of what people want and don't want from their spoon rings on a daily basis. I also still do all of the casting with Mike, regular bench work making spoon rings, pendants and bracelets, some wax work and shipping. So I am very active in every aspect of Spoonier now (aka I kind of took it over hehe).... And I LOVE it! I love every spoon that comes in and cherish every customer who appreciates them. I know way more about spoons, flowers and Art Nouveau than I ever thought I would! Pleased as punch to be able to play with the kids AND pay the bills... Yay!
Josh W does the majority of Spoonier's bench work for our high quality finished spoon ring castings. He is also the star behind our One of a Kind Stone Set Spoon Rings! In the last 2 years, Josh has followed his dream of continuing his education in jewelry and becoming a jewelry designer in San Fransisco as well!
Mike has now opened a pretty successful Etsy vintage camera shop, and has been working hard on designing new Celtic jewelry (his other two loves). He does most of the wax work that is entailed to offer our castings and also continues to be the finder of the most unusual and beautiful sterling spoons Etsy (and possibly the world) has to offer. These spoons have actually inspired a few of his custom jewelry designs!

Special thanks to:
Nicole, a new shop member who helps wish shipping and many other duties!
Josh M, another fantastic jewelry artist who has joined our team to help out with shipping and finishing as well as a whole host of other duties as well!
And Craig for doing the majority of our original spoon ring production.

Every member of spoonier loves what they do, and it shows!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Where do You Find Your Spoons?~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We find a lot of our spoons at Antique shops (and get to call that work). We also find them at Estate auctions, internet sales (Etsy has great deals) and we still find some of our most valuable patterns at Refineries! Some people have NO Idea what about what they are getting rid of, or about the Historical and Art Nouveau Value to the sterling flatware they possess. We feel honored to be able to give a New Birth to the beauty of the turn of the century Artistry of Unger Brothers, Gorham, Whiting, Paye & Baker and Alvin Co to mention only a few! And we greatly appreciate our fans here on Etsy who also can see the timeless exquisiteness of these old spoons.
