About

Digging Through a Basement With a Miner's Hat on...

That's when I'm my happiest, folks. Strange? Yes. Unusual? Who really knows? What I do know is that I have loved the old, worn and abandoned since I was literally 6 or so. For years, I've trawled yard sales, flea markets, antique malls and the like, looking for beautiful things that I can clean up and give new life to. I used a rotary phone for years because I liked it, not because it made any sense. I use fountain pens (that leak) because they feel good in my hand, not because they're practical. In fact, my life has been ruled by beauty, timeless design and cool old things that I insist on using to give my life depth as our culture freewheels into a convenience-based Hades where nothing is pretty, nothing has a history and everything is disposable (I'm looking at you, IKEA).

Point is, I also use these vintage items in my work as a conceptual portrait photographer and one day, I woke up and looked around and said to myself "You need to dump some of this great stuff" and Stag was born. I could put a coat of icing on it, but we're friends here. It was a matter of practicality, people. So now you too can enjoy my great vintage finds and put them to work making your life more beautiful, more grounded and more timeless.

I sell some of my photography over at my other shop: The Stapelia Company so go take a peek if you'd like.

Or, if you're already following Stag on Facebook and want to get involved in some witty exchanges, artistic suggestions or want to volunteer yourself for a casting call, feel free to 'like' my other Facebook page:

I always welcome convos, suggestions, comments, stories about your old items, new commissions and new clients so feel free to say hello at any time!

Payment
Paypal and credit cards are preferred (with Paypal, you don't need to have an account with them as long as you have a valid credit card). I do accept checks, but they are not my favorite. Unfortunately, I have to charge sales tax on items sold in Maine. Everyone else, you're in the clear!
Shipping
I ship my packages at least twice a week and sometimes more depending on sales volume. I am not responsible for items lost or damaged in the mail, but I am happy to add insurance if you'd like.

DOMESTIC
I ship via USPS First Class Mail which takes roughly 2-5 days. I also purchase delivery confirmation for every item I ship (this is included in the shipping charge). If you do not see your package within a week and a half, please contact me for your delivery confirmation number. Please contact me if you are interested in upgrading to priority or express shipping.

INTERNATIONAL
I generally use First Class International mail, which takes roughly 5-14 days. You may also upgrade to priority mail international or express mail international if you'd like - just ask and I'll figure out the charge. Also you are responsible for any duty your country may charge you.
Refunds and Exchanges
I try to photograph and describe my items thoroughly, so hopefully there are no surprises upon delivery, but vintage is tricky. If you have an issue with an item that was not mentioned in the listing and would like a refund, please convo me immediately so I know. Then ship the item back to me at the buyer's expense within 7 days. Upon receipt of the item, a full refund will be issued.
Additional policies and FAQs
Are you looking for a specific vintage item? Do you have things you would like to see me carry more of? Please convo and let me know. I'm here for you!
