5 out of 5 starsI got this for my mom and she loved it! Really lovely color and simple design. Very hopeful that the soap won't stick anymore!

About StampedClay
-
My gas downdraft kiln I built in 1997, just shy of 30 cubic feet, I fire it 8 to 10 times every year ( in normal times).
-
I'm using one of my stamps, made from the same clay, to add the textured decoration that is on every piece I make.
-
These are some of the stamps I have made that I use to roll a pattern into my pottery shortly after I have thrown it.
-
One of the bowls I have made from a lump of clay that made it through 6 major steps to a finished piece ready to use.
-
And these are more of my stamps that I have made that are pressed into the surface of other pieces I have thrown.
I start with a lump of clay and create a work of art.
I was always playing in the mud and getting in trouble when I was little. Then my mom signed me up for a clay class and I was still coming home muddy, but not getting in trouble anymore. Plus, I found I could make anything I wanted using clay, I was hooked.. Now I have been making pottery fulltime for 23 years and teaching clay for almost as long. Soon after starting my business, Marianne Brown Pottery, I made my first stamp to use to decorate my pottery and have been adding to my collection ever since. Now there are 176 different stamps and annually add 3 or 4 more, some are found objects but most are made from the same clay as the pottery. This is what makes my pottery unique.
