A World of Nature
When I started painting some years ago after concentrating on my graphic design business, I had forgotten how much I loved creating nature and animal subjects. My design career really didn't involve much painting, let alone nature, so it took me by surprise how much I'd missed it.
I've stopped painting commissioned pet portraits right now. The stress was just too high. I'm concentrating on just painting what I love and get excited about.
--- To quote a customer "Your art is cute but not cutesy". ---
That's EXACTLY what I want my art to be.
I grew up on a farm and had a great childhood exposed to lots of nature, including domestic and wild creatures of all kinds. From dozens of barn cats to polecats, dogs, goats, horses, cows, pigs, chickens, and wild pets too numerous to list.
After marriage and moving to a large metropolitan area, cats were my passion. I fostered over 130 cats (I lost count at that point) and helped place hundreds of rescues into new loving homes (including my own LOL). They were often the models for my stock photography and now I want to include them in my paintings.
I've made my career and living as a freelance artist, both graphic design and fine art. I love illustrating animals, flowers, and other nature subjects. Its a time consuming passion but one I will never stop pursuing.
Thanks for visiting!
