...In both the literal sense (what we put into our bodies and what we dispose of as trash) and figuratively (how we internalize and react to our surroundings), The Rex Apothecary is constantly seeking to optimize and minimize. Quality over Quantity, to be cliche.

Organic, ethically harvested ingredients are our staples, and reusable, renewable packaging our vehicles. We are currently steering away from packaging our popular Pitty Party Deodorant in the common plastic twist up tube. But why? That's just how deodorant is, it comes in a plastic twist up tube, right? Unfortunately, even though our plastic tubes are made of recycled material, it is not clear whether the twist up dial can be recycled or not once the tube is empty. On top of that, many cities don't even offer curbside recycling pickup. Overall, when you look at the deodorant selection at your grocery store, then multiply that by the number of stores in your town, then multiply ::that:: by the number of towns in the U.S... we're looking at enough plastic already.

While shifting our normal routine can be daunting, if we ask ourselves why we have them in the first place it is sometimes easier. Are we used to using a foamy paste in a plastic tube to clean our teeth because commercials have been telling us to for the last fifty years? Why dilute something with useless and toxic ingredients when you can strip it down to the most effective few. That's where we come in.

Our products work hard. Ask our repeat customers. Unlike commercials, our testimonies are not paid actors. We aren't here to ::tell:: you what an ingredient supposedly does. We research each one before testing it so that we can ::show:: you what works. Most of it is not new information. Many of the recipes we pull from have been tried and true for decades. We simply perfect them.

Products are made to order so please allow up to 5 business days processing time before shipping.

Items will be shipped USPS first class if weight allows, however if you would like upgraded shipping please let me know in a message BEFORE purchase when you order.

Seller is not responsible for any items that are lost during shipping, including items removed from packaging after shipment but before delivery, or items that are delivered by the USPS but not received by you. We take every precaution to ensure your package is secure upon its departure from our studio and are not responsible for its transit. >>>In order to keep shipping costs reasonable we ship USPS First Class for packages under 14oz. If you would like to upgrade to Priority, which includes insurance for your package, please indicate so prior to purchase so that the shipping cost can be adjusted.<<< If your item did not ship via Priority mail there is nothing we can do about packages lost in transit. Please contact your closest USPS if your tracking information seems inaccurate, as it is out of our hands once the package leaves our facility.

Additional policies and FAQs
ALWAYS test new products for sensitivity/allergy by putting a dab inside your wrist or under your chin and waiting at least 15 minutes. Review all ingredients very carefully to check for any known allergens or sensitivities.

It is the buyers responsibility to notify the seller of ANY and ALL allergies or sensitivities prior to purchase. Special measures may need to be taken to prevent contamination with allergens so please do not assume that just because it isn't an ingredient that the facility is free of all allergens.

Due to the nature of our products, we can not be held responsible for items that may melt if left on a doorstep or mailbox in the heat. We ask that if you cannot be present to receive your order, that you make other arrangements with your post to pick it up from their temperature controlled facilities to ensure you get your product in the same condition as it left our Portland studio.

Items containing coconut oil as an ingredient will be temperature sensitive. It turns liquid at 76F. If the temperature of your home is higher than this these products will be softer and you may need to store them in the refrigerator all or part of the year. If a product does, in fact, melt, it can be restored to full functionality by placing it in the refrigerator for approximately one hour. Ingredients are adjusted seasonally to partially account for this variation.

Use these natural products immediately. Store in the refrigerator to prolong shelf life.

These natural products have not been evaluated by the FDA. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, mitigate, or prevent any disease. Please make your own informed decision on the ingredients in these products to determine if they are right for you.

If you are pregnant or nursing, always consult a doctor before use of our products with herbs or essential oils.

If you are having trouble with your product I urge you to contact us before leaving any negative feedback. We would love nothing more than for you to be thrilled with your purchase, but in the rare case that you are not we would like to work with you to find a solution.
