Hi I am Steven Vannoy

Three of my great passions in life are travel, photography and golf. I believe that travel broadens one's view of the world.

Experiencing other cultures, meeting people from other communities and other countries and seeing the beauty, and sometimes ugliness, of the world has helped me understand that all of our lives are at once interconnected and individual. It has made me better appreciate my own home and culture as well as that of the people I've met and the lands I've seen and I have become a much more tolerant person as a result.

Through my landscape photography I seek to document my own personal experiences, to capture scenes and events as I see them and to share with others the beauty and diversity of the world I've seen. As the images of other photographers have inspired me to explore the world, I hope my own contributions will inspire others to do the same.

The urge to create beautiful images really kicked into high gear when I joined the United States Navy. Being stationed in Japan for four and a half years on an aircraft carrier I had the chance to travel throughout Asia, Africa and Australia, during these travels I met some interesting people and photographed a lot of images along the way. I have been involved in photography since childhood. I experienced a renewed enthusiasm and appreciation for photography since the introduction of digital photography, my collection of images has grown and become easier to manage. Using my Sony A7rii, Sony RX10, & DJI Mavic 2 Pro to capture amazing aerial images that were never available to me before.

Since ending my Navy career back in the early 80's I have embarked upon a series of trips to far-flung locations around the world, camera always in hand, which resulted in an ever growing library of images documenting my adventures. I want people to see the world through my lens and be able to visit locations visually that they may never make it to. I specialize in travel photography and my work includes subjects ranging from landscapes to people and local culture to abstracts.
