How StickPretty Began
What began as an import company for hand-made home goods is now a boutique print shop producing 100's of whimsical decorative designs for windows and tiles.
Back in 2003 when a NYC magazine editor took a sabbatical that landed her in London she discovered dozens of very special hand-made items not available in the US. With little more than a lot of hope and a few notions of what might sell, she began showing sample items at design trade shows and taking orders for the many UK artists she had befriended. After several years and changing opportunities, this small business veered off track and started peddling mass imports on a large scale. However, it quickly became clear that original goods requiring one-off production were a much more interesting venture than dealing in boxes of identical goods.
Cutting out suppliers meant taking on means of production so a printer was acquired and a print shop was set up in a cozy Florida cottage. Surrounded by flora and fauna we embrace a slower pace of life that allows our creative juices to flow. Color and pattern are our muses and easy, beautiful surface solutions are our goal.
