About

Pixel by Pixel - Stitch by Stitch

I started doing pixel art at a young age. My dad had gotten me an old computer from his work and I started fiddling around with paint.

My first projects consisted of making dollz; at first I played around with online dress up games, but soon I started to make my own designs. After joining some pixel art fora, I really started to develop my paint and, later, paint shop pro skills.

I didn't pick up cross stitching again until a few years ago, but was immediately hooked. I realised that I could combine these two hobbies and create my own unique cross stitch projects.

I aim to create fun designs that nonetheless look beautiful and sophisticated.

I am currently doing a double MA programme (Translation & Literary Studies) at the University of Leiden, the Netherlands. I work from home where I live with my boyfriend and our three rats.

If I'm not designing, working or studying I love to read, write and work in my vegetable and herb garden.

For free patterns, tutorials and more check out my website www.stitchxonomy.com

I care about the environment and try to work with recyclable or recycled materials whenever I can.
