Ich mache meinen Schmuck und meine Magnete zu Hause auf meinem Küchentisch. Ich habe andere Orte ausprobiert, komme aber immer wieder in die Mitte unseres Hauses zurück. Etsy ist meine Verbindung zur Außenwelt, zum Kaufen und Verkaufen, zum Lernen und Verbinden mit anderen Handwerkern.

Ich mag es, Materialien zu mischen; Steine und Hornperlen, Metallknöpfe und Glas, Holz, Muschel etc. Das wichtigste Element für mich ist Farbe. Früher habe ich mit Aquarellfarben gemalt, und obwohl Perlen harte Kanten haben, kann man immer noch wunderbare komplexe Farbkombinationen machen. Das zweitwichtigste ist die Textur. Ich mag es, es zu vermischen. Ich mache es nicht glatt und sogar sehr oft, aber wenn ich es tue, ist es absichtlich.

Ich sammle Knöpfe und finde, dass die, die noch auf ihren Karten sind, die nettesten sind, zumindest aus dem letzten Jahrhundert. Ich liste ein paar von ihnen zum Verkauf auf, besonders wenn ich mehrere Karten eines Designs habe. Einige eignen sich für Nähprojekte, alle wären wunderbar in Schmuck und Kunsthandwerk.

I like to mix materials; stones and horn beads, metal buttons and glass, wood, shell etc. The most important element to me is color. I used to paint with watercolors, and though beads have hard edges, you can still make wonderful complex color combinations. The second most important thing is texture. I like to mix it up. I don't do smooth and even very often, but if I do, it's deliberate.

I collect buttons and find that the ones still on their cards are the nicest, at least from the last century. I'm listing a few of them for sale, especially if I have several cards of one design. Some are suitable for sewing projects, all would be wonderful in jewelry and crafts.
