Donna *never* disappoints - my friends are going to be happy with their gifts (if they make it that far.....)! As always, quick shipping, great packaging, classic, elegant designs and impeccable workmanship - Donna is my #1 go-to for jewelry!!

she told me if I ever make her wear jewelry, she wants a turtle anklet blush
I tucked a pair of malachite earrings in my pocket when I went walking in one of my favorite places in the southwest. They look like they belong here. Truth is they belong in your jewelry stash. Am I right?

A lover of the outdoors, quotable quotes, nude beaches, desert hiking, cooking, small towns, dark skies, soul mates and laughter, I am fortunate to be living my dream. I'm kidding about the picture. That's not me, it's my Hilldog.

    Faithful Canine Companion

Yes, my name is Hilldog, which came from an episode of South Park, the cartoon. It seemed like a cruel trick at the time, but I've grown very fond of my name. I like to help with the shipping. And that picture isn't me. Duh. It's my mom Donna.

I critique Donna's jewelry and often I am the one who drives the packaged orders to the post office. Notice who's listed ahead of me... the faithful canine companion. What am I, chopped liver?

Thanks for visiting my little shop. Everything here is handmade by me either in the shadows of Mt. Hood (in southern Washington state) or when traveling America's back roads in our home away from home.

My shop is all about unique and one-of-a-kind pieces. I like being a little bit different and my jewelry designs reflect that part of me. Please browse to your heart's content. I hope you'll find something a little bit different here to add to your jewels. Be gorgeous!

Additional policies and FAQs
I really like custom work. My customers ideas and requests add to my own inspiration. Please ask if you are interested in something to match, a gift, weddings or something special just for you. I'm also happy to change clasps from hooks to toggles to lobster claws.

Earrings get lost, I know from experience. All of my hook earrings come with little plastic backs. If you do lose an earring, it is likely that I can reproduce it for you. All you have to do is ask. If I can, I will be delighted to replace your lost earring for half the original price you paid.

===cleaning instructions===

With few exceptions, every piece of jewelry is made with .925 sterling silver or .995 Karen Hill Tribe fine silver. Silver tarnishes and it will need some simple care on your part to minimize the tarnishing. I have found that keeping silver in plastic baggies is the most effective prevention. Each piece you buy will come inside a baggie tucked in secure packaging.

When your silver does need to be polished I recommend three methods.

First, wear your jewelry in the shower occasionally. The soap you use on your body is safe enough for "soft" gemstones, including pearls. It's amazing how the whole piece comes to life again, including earrings, plus it's a completely sensual experience for you if you love gemstone jewelry like I do.

Second, wash your jewelry with a load of laundry. Put a couple of pieces inside a sock and tie a knot in the end of the sock. I like the microfiber fabric, but any sock will do as long as it doesn't have holes in it. Be sure to take the jewelry out before throwing the sock in the dryer. Oh and no bleach, just normal laundry detergent. If your jewelry is still not bright enough for you, just do it again.

Third, hand polish the piece with a soft cloth. Time consuming but rewarding if you're just sitting there with nothing else to do.

Never use harsh chemicals on any "soft" gemstones, copper or pearls. You will receive cleaning instructions with your first order along with a list of the soft gemstones that I work with.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know which ear wires to choose for my earrings?

If you're unsure about which ear wires you want, you can type the various options in my shop's search box to see examples. my normal choices include: flat wire hooks (sterling silver); round wire hooks (sterling silver); leverbacks (sterling silver); posts (sterling silver); hypoallergenic hooks (raw titanium).

Will I receive my jewelry in gift boxes?

You get to choose whether you want gift boxes or not. If there isn't a choice available, then the piece needs to be in a gift box for safe shipping. I'm here to help unclutter mother earth and at the same time make this a great shopping experience for you.

How heavy are your earrings?

nearly all of my earrings weigh less than 4 grams per pair. if they are heavier than that, you will find approximate weights in my item detail descriptions. if you have concerns about a particular pair, please ask!

How do I know what size bracelet to order?

it's easy! you just need to measure your wrist, at the smallest point. use a cloth measuring tape, or just a piece of string that you can wrap around your wrist and then it measure on a ruler. then add 1/4 to 1/2 inch depending on how loose you like your bracelets. for example, my wrist measures 6 1/4 inches. I wear a size 6 1/2 to a 6 3/4 (I prefer the larger stones in a looser bracelet and the smaller stones a little tighter around my wrist.)
