Creating is like breathing.
I have always been a lover of natural things, an earthy kind of girl and a person who perpetually must work with her hands.
All of the pieces you see in my shop are made one at a time in my little studio in the scenic Hudson River Valley of New York State. The lovely fleeces I gather are from local farms graciously given by friendly sheep of many breeds. They are scoured and prepared for spinning by my own two hands. Most of the time there is no plan...The knitted designs usually begin to manifest somewhere between the dye pot and the wheel. Colors start to become coupled together and textures start to grow during that phase of the process. I like to use simple patterns to showcase my yarns and am a firm believer that beautiful handmade things are to be used and enjoyed every day.
My jewelry pieces are also rarely planned out. I choose most of my jewelry components from small shops right here on Etsy and am drawn to the contrasts between smooth polished stones and rough raw nuggets. When the mood strikes I disappear into my workroom and start to mix and match stones ~ looking for unique and unusual combinations.
