About StopWineing1
Debbie Wiegmann and Sue Curry are long-time friends who first met through their involvement with horses. Debbie is an equestrian event planner and vice president of Wine Country Arabian Horse Association. Sue is a respected dressage judge and clinician. They both love working with animals every day, and they also love the art of turning wood and acrylic on a lathe.
Debbie first became interested in wood turning when she and her husband attended a wood show and she was mesmerized by a man turning wood on a lathe. She's been hooked ever since. When Debbie gave Sue a bottle of wine and a stopper for Christmas one year, Sue wanted to learn more about her friend's hobby. Debbie taught Sue to turn wood, and now she's hooked too! Initially they sold their stoppers to friends and at local craft fairs. The popularity of their handcrafted items prompted them to open an Etsy store. In addition to bottle stoppers, they also make corkscrews and dressage bells.
