Blackwork doesn't have to be black! Modern blackwork designs in bright and cheerful colours.
I have personally stitched the models for every design - this allows me to make sure the pattern is as error-free as humanly possible.
Many of the designs have been stitched in gorgeous variegated flosses for a unique finish. Or you can simply use your favorite colours from your floss stash to create these lacy blackwork projects!

5 out of 5 starsThis pattern is so pretty and stitches up so quickly! It was a great first blackwork project for me and definitely got me hooked on it! I love that the designer suggests multiple colorways as well. I only wish that there was a guide to finishing the bookmark like it is in the photos as I think the fraying on the edges is super pretty :). But since I did pay for just the pattern, it was totally worth it for me and it will be a wonderful gift for my grandma :D

The colours you have chosen are so pretty! 😍 The finish is fairly simple, I just used iron-on fusible interfacing to attach a piece of felt over the back of the stitching. Then I frayed the edges by pulling out the threads on the aida fabric on each side, stopping at the edge of the felt. I didn't include a finishing guide because there are so many different ways to finish a bookmark, but I think a tutorial for this finish is a great idea, and I will get to work on that! 😊
