Announcement   These photographic prints are made on my 9-color Epson Stylus Pro 3880 professional printer on 8.5" x 11" (21.6 x 28 cm) Hahnemuhle Heavyweight (305GSM) Matte Fine Art Photo Rag paper (or similar), with white borders, which fit into standard 8.5" x 11" (21.6 x 28 cm) frames--no need for mats. Print permanence rating: your lifetime depending upon your display/storage conditions (www.Wilhelm-research.com).

Photos are inserted into a crystal-clear acetate sleeve with an acid-free stiff card, then shipped in a stiff photo-mailer by post.

What is a giclée print?

Giclee comes from French and translated literally means “squirt”, which in this case refers to the process by which the ink is applied to the paper. The nozzles of an inkjet printer spray a pattern of very fine drops onto the paper that later form the picture. The term giclee connotes an artwork, a photograph or a digitally produced work reproduced on an inkjet printer. The image is generated onto coated, archival artist’s paper using pigmented inks (UV resistant). (From Hahnemuhle.com).

The book, PHOTOGRAPHS OF PROVENCE, contains more than 100 photos of people, scenery, historical buildings (interiors and exteriors) with brief captions. Available at Amazon.com.

The book, IMPERIAL GARDENS OF JAPAN, is a photo book about four imperial gardens in Kyoto, Japan, with an extensive introduction to each garden, and elaborate captions for the many illustrations. Available at Amazon.com.

About

I make photographs.

I am a retired teacher, with a 30-year career lecturing about architectural design, and Western and Japanese architectural history—-and photography. I've lived and studied for several years in Tokyo and Kyoto, Japan, and currently live in Toronto, Canada, where I've lectured at various institutions including the University of Toronto and the Art Gallery of Ontario.

I am a working photographer with more than two dozen exhibitions, an ardent traveller, and a student of foreign cultures.

I make images using digital cameras; I process those RAW images on a computer (a Mac) using various programs; and I print the resultant images on an Epson 3880 professional style digital printer using various high quality papers made by: Moab, Epson, Canson, etc.

Welcome to my photography gallery STRAUSKI'S PHOTOGRAPHY SUITABLE FOR FRAMING. I have been making photographs and teaching about photography for about 45 years. I lean toward technical proficiency, and aspire to be rather scientific in the production of prints. I learned my craft from the books of Ansel Adams, and from years of trying and experience. My photos have been in more than two dozen exhibitions in galleries, and are in various collections of corporations and individuals.

Regarding NASA images:

"STScI created this image to be widely distributed to the general public as part of our outreach efforts, and we have released this image into the public domain.

Sincerely,
Space Telescope Science Institute"

These images of details of our universe are simply beautiful. Everyone should have one to remind us of how unimportant we are in the grand scheme of things.

I use a frequently-calibrated computer monitor to ensure color accuracy when making your print(s). If your monitor isn't calibrated, you may see different colors and brightness and contrast on your monitor than the ones which I see on mine. Therefore, the appearance of the print which you receive from me may look slightly different than when looking at my print on your computer screen on Etsy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Under the lower left corner of the image on your print will be noted in small type the NAME of the image, (FILE NUMBER), LOCATION, YEAR. Under the lower right corner will be © TED SCOTT and my SIGNATURE (except on prints of NASA images).
All of these images (except the NASA Images) are protected by COPYRIGHT owned by me. Even though you will own the purchased print, you may not reproduce the image in any way.
Anyone found to have infringed a copyrighted work may be liable for statutory damages up to $30,000 for each work infringed and, if willful infringement is proven by the copyright owner, that amount may be increased up to $150,000 for each work infringed. When the opportunity presents itself, I give presents of framed photographs to young people who are my family or are friends. I like the idea of introducing them to art at an early age, and I hope that the photo(s) will be among the important things which they take with them when they leave home for college. A work of art given as a gift to an infant is an invaluable present which that young person may appreciate for life.
