Creé Strings Made Simple porque creo que todos los niños merecen la oportunidad de experimentar la alegría, la confianza y la creatividad que aporta la música.

Tras más de 30 años enseñando violín, viola y violonchelo a principiantes, me encontré una y otra vez con el mismo desafío: los padres querían ayudar a sus hijos a tener éxito y los profesores necesitaban recursos atractivos. Muchos alumnos se sentían abrumados por los materiales teóricos tradicionales, que les resultaban demasiado complicados o poco inspiradores. Quería cambiar eso.

Así que empecé a crear recursos divertidos, sencillos y motivadores que ayudaran a los jóvenes estudiantes de instrumentos de cuerda a disfrutar del aprendizaje. Desde juegos coloridos y hojas de trabajo creativas hasta herramientas de práctica para principiantes, mi objetivo era hacer que la educación musical fuera accesible para todos los niños, ya sea que aprendieran en casa, en la escuela o en clases particulares.

Pero Strings Made Simple va más allá de la música. Se trata de fomentar la confianza, crear conexiones y ayudar a los niños a descubrir que, con paciencia y práctica, son capaces de lograr cosas maravillosas.

Mi trabajo también se ha visto profundamente influenciado por mi labor internacional con la Orquesta Juvenil de Liberia, ubicada en Liberia, África Occidental, que fundé en 2018. He sido testigo directo de cómo la música puede inspirar esperanza, disciplina, liderazgo y alegría en jóvenes de diversas culturas y comunidades.

Strings Made Simple se creó para proporcionar a padres, profesores y alumnos recursos creativos y divertidos que hagan que aprender a tocar instrumentos de cuerda sea emocionante, alcanzable y significativo.

I created Strings Made Simple because I believe every child deserves the opportunity to experience the joy, confidence, and creativity that music brings.

After over 30 years of teaching violin, viola, and cello to beginners, I saw the same challenge over and over again: parents wanted to help their children succeed, and teachers needed engaging resources. Many students were overwhelmed by traditional theory materials that felt too complicated or uninspiring. I wanted to change that.

So I began creating fun, simple, and encouraging resources that helped young string students actually enjoy learning. From colorful games and creative worksheets to beginner-friendly practice tools, my goal became making music education approachable for every child- whether learning at home, at school, or in private lessons.

But Strings Made Simple is about more than music. It's about building confidence, creating connection, and helping children discover that they are capable of beautiful things with patience and practice.

My work has also been deeply shaped by my international work with the Liberian Youth Orchestra located in Liberia, West Africa, which I founded in 2018. I have seen firsthand how music can inspire hope, discipline, leadership, and joy in young people across cultures and communities.

Strings Made Simple was created to equip parents, teachers, and students with creative and fun resources that make learning strings feel exciting, achievable, and meaningful.
