About

Discovering I wanted to be an artisan...

Lakeside Pottery and Glass is the creative outlet for Beth Clouse in Holly, Michigan. While I did not start my working life as an artisan, I have always loved creating and learning new crafts. It wasn't until I was 42 when I realized what I wanted to be when I grew up, and Studio 42 was born! But, after several years as Studio 42, I decided I needed a name to incorporate the style of pottery and glass I'm excited to create....Lakeside Pottery and Glass!

I got my start almost 9 years ago with 1500 ceramics molds and liquid clay! Along with my husband, we learned the art of molded ceramics! I loved it so much I had to share it. I then held parties at daycares, cub scouts, and in retail settings while experimenting with hand building.

In 2011, the molds were donated to college students to focus on the hand building part of my creativity. I use various types of materials in handmade ceramics: jewelry, doilies, stamps and stencils, and even bubble wrap and shelf liner! Specializing in one of-a-kind items, I like to add a bit of cottage chic or bold and beautiful designs to my work. No two items are ever really identical.

Recently I had been introduced to the art of fused glass and I love it! Fused glass pendants, pony tail holders, and nightlights are just a start as I learn more of this art.

I am very excited by all that I am learning and can't wait to share it!
