About

I love playing with clay - enchanted by the plasticity, tactileness and malleability of it, still, even after 20 odds years later!

I love making things with clay. I guess I am a quirky soul, as I love making quirky things... For more than 25 years. The malleable qualities and versatility of clay makes my imagination run riot. Almost everything is one off, I don't use molds, not yet anyway.

I live and work in Bristol where I rent a tiny studio space. There I make hand-built ceramics from stoneware and mostly porcelain clays. I have a penchant for varied and dynamic styles and often add found bits and bobs into my work.

I am inspired by everything around me, but mostly by the beauty in eroded, time honoured surfaces, and shapes that endured their journey through time. They call this Wabi-Sabi in Japan.

If I'm not getting my hands dirty with clay, I have a go with painting, designing and making objects using mixed media but clay has always had that special place in my heart.

I'm chuffed that they thought highly of me enough as an artist to make me a member of Potters Bristol and Clifton Arts Club.

Thank you for popping in. Please come back soon.

Pelin.
