Oddball – Seeing the world in a different perspective

Oddball. The course director at Saint Martin's used that word to introduce me to the other lecturers as I transferred in the middle of the school year from another school.

He meant it in a positive way. I saw the world in a different way and I brought something new to the mix of students.

I would turn creative briefs around in a completely new direction and I got encouraged to do so.

"Anyone can do what they are told to do, not everyone can think of what shall be done in the first place."

I have always preferred to think up new ideas and see them implemented and brought to life.

Spending over a decade in Vietnam I have observed and studied. Vietnam has a great tradition of producing lacquerware. I simply created the idea of combining my images with lacquer and I have found the perfect outlet to let my artwork be enjoyed in daily life.

I hope you enjoy my work as much as I do creating it.

Welcome to my store and my world of photography fused with lacquerware.

Producing designs is a time consuming process. From the digital captures to the editing process and the post production work to have the images print ready.

Once I have printed the images, the lacquer process can start. The prints are being coated with several layers of lacquer. Between each layer they need to dry so the process takes many weeks to complete and each piece is done by hand.

I hope you will enjoy my work as much as I do creating it.

I do my best to ensure the highest quality possible with my products, bearing in mind that my products are handmade throughout the lacquer stage. Your order will ship as soon as it is completed.

I use registered mail at the Central Post Office in Ho Chi Minh City. They state that the parcel will take between 2-3 weeks by air mail to reach your destination. I wrap my products in bubble wrap and at the post office they will recycle cardboard and make a custom sized box for the parcel on the spot.

Any additional fees levied by customs and/or taxes are your responsibility as a buyer. I am only responsible for producing the product and shipping it to your address from the Central Post Office. Please ensure to give me your correct shipping address.

I do reserve the right to not ship to certain countries.
