Hey hoi, wat leuk dat je op mijn Etsy shop bent beland!
Who are you?
I’m Ragonda, a 23 year old WdKA illustration student from the Netherlands. In addition to following a full time study, I do a lot more different things, let’s just say I’m a busy bee.
Things like making products for my Etsy shop (also called TheRoverShop) like keychains, washi tape, stickers, postcards and so on, I work at an art supply shop called @ZwemmerArtSupply in Elburg (and have been for the last 5 years), because of that I can proudly call myself an art supply nerd, hihi. I work as a content creator for @GoudenLijntjes and @BeCreativeShop, I give workshops at creative fairs like @KreaDoe or on request, and so on….
But in my ‘free free’ time I love to go on art & yap coffee dates with my friends, do strength training, pilates, go on walks, watch films or series, read a good book or comic but I also LOVE to travel. New places always give me inspiration for my drawings
How did you get your shop name Ragonda?
When I had to choose a name for my socials I first off wanted to go for my own name: Ragonda, but I soon realised that that name would probably be too hard to remember for people.
Luckily I have an amazing pet called Rover, a 9 year old meyer parrot. Rover is my best friend, I love that little guy so SO much. We also have a lot of similarities. We both love to talk (we are yappers), we love snacks, we love cuddles but also our alone time.
That day I realized that I wanted to dedicate his name to my work. I named my socials and Etsy shop after my best buddy: Rover. Ever since then I’m known as TheRoverShop.
What materials do you use?
Do you have a minute? Or even better: a few hours…
Where do I even start? It is good to know that, most of the time, I work with mixed media. That means that I use two or more materials together. Like watercolor and colored pencil, marker and fineliner, pan pastel and collage, etc. On my socials I almost always show the materials I use. Right now I’m working on making a page for you with an overview of all my favourite supplies. So check this page in a few weeks :)
